Before we continue with "Professor PLO" the stacks have been updated in the Stud/O8 during the break.

So, our friend the PLO Professor.

I was messing about on YT pre-trip looking for stuff on Big O. There's very little in the domain, & after some searching up popped The Poker Professor who has made scores of PLO Coaching Videos.

It never took me long - maybe 3 minutes - to become aware that I was wasting my time & as a PLO coach he was fos. No problem, live & let live, & good luck to him.

Anyway, I arrive in Vegas & seem to bump into him at all the PLO games.

It's hard to miss him really. Lank, unkempt hair that's not been washed in weeks, topped off with a Top Hat, & he seems to possess Top Hats in a whole range of colours. Looks a picture...

As you will have noted from the video, he has one of those grating voices, reminds me very much of Beavis & Butthead. It's fine for a few minutes, but he literally never stops talking, & if anyone tried to reply or add to the convo, he just talks louder.

And in fact all he does is articulate his thoughts.

"If I'd of called I'd have won that" in a masterpiece of how to ruin our language, "I had 7-7-7-8-8". (Almost the worst possible starting hand in Big O).

"I woulda got 2 pairs if I'd of called" & so on.

And every sentence included "like" 78 times.

"So I've, like, got, like, 7-7 like, &, like, sorta thing, I raise like"..... This, I should add, is from a fully grown adult.

And we had that every hand, for 5 or 6 hours non-stop.

Eventually, to the relief of everyone at the table, he bust. And moments later took his seat at a cash table right next to our table. And off he went again.

It's just a complete lack of self-awareness. Probably a decent chap, but maybe someone needs to give him a steer.

PLO Professor, my arse. Dirge Professor, more like.

he is still in the monster with 54 players left from just under 10000 to start with , how many bad beat stories he must have caused today is anyones guess.  $1.2 million up top

i also recognise the name steven frew from dtd updates so am sure lots of you know him well, has a top 10 stack

would love to watch live stream of mallu on huge final table

A quick "good luck" message to animalpoker (aka Rob Price) who, minutes ago, had a Top 10 stack in the WSOP O8/Stud thing.

The thing with Rob is that he has a super aggro style, so he's never far from doubling or busting.

This screenshot from the WSOP+ jobbie was a bit ago, but he WhatsApp'd me minutes ago & was on 660k. He had a bruising loss with Queens full to Kings full but since then has got right back into it.

Thx mate
Managed to bag 930k which was the highest I’d been all day taking a nice pot of Gus Hansen at the end in O8.  Hellmuth joined our table for the last hour too
Was fun , time to rest up and hopefully go deep at the business end tomorrow 1pm restart (8pm uk time)

A few weeks back I decided to play the 2-7TD at APAT Coventry. Mostly because I was having a boring day and it started at 5pm as opposed to the NLHE starting at 7.
Having played zero live hands of 2-7, and maybe a handful online I thought I’d get some idea of the game via YouTube.
Time was short and Professor PLO’s video was only 18 minutes…

Yes, his voice was annoying and yes, I’m sure that many many people could have given me better advice, but somehow I managed to scoop first place. Beginners’ Luck is truly a thing,.

Thanks, & yes, what a nightmare he is to play. I find him oddly likeable though, very much got his own way of playing. I bumped into him at Aria a few days ago, he was wearing a sort of Safari Suit. And on that curious note, I'll leave it at that. Must admit, he looked quite fetching.

He finished the day in 27th place of the remaining 54.

I'm not familiar with Steven Frew, but his Hendon suggests he's both a DTD & APAT regular, so VBOL to him.

Ha, awesome.

And he does not bother with the hoodies, baseball cap & shades combo, or that thing all the kids do, pulling their sweater across their mouth.

Basically, he just sits there & takes the piss. Reminds me in some ways of Laurence Gosden, who I was very pleased to bump into again recently.

Played with 3 of them quite a bit yesterday
The short stacks will make for a fast dynamic with more luck as well as the huge blinds
10/10/40/80 stud
And 20/40 40/80 O8
Redraw at 24 left anyways I think , also no phones after that point I believe  , I’ve used music a fair bit in this tournament so might miss it a bit , determined to not replace that with alcohol though .  I’m actually dry for 3 of the last 4 days .  Slept well considering how excited I am .  Restart in 3 hours , off out to get food shortly and probably stock the fridge with something for dinner too .

Meh. But yes, if you insist. Do all old people get so argumentative?
