I'm not in the habit of taking "hand" 'photos at the table, it's a bit naff imo, but I think this was a reasonable exception, nobody would believe me otherwise.
He was a lovely fella & was all apologies afterwards. I went & shook his hand & wandered away tail between legs & a bit shell-shocked that the party was over so quickly & in such weird fashion.
Surprisingly, the beat never bothered me THAT much, it's poker, it happens, but departing in Level 3 of a WSOP certainly was a big disappointment, I love WSOP days so much.
If I misplayed the hand I'd be cross with myself, but I played it correctly (imo).
Those who have managed to grind their way through these reports may recall I exited the WSOP Big O in similar fashion, when two of us flopped the same boat but his (inferior) danglers got there. That was a 5 card game of course so it's not that terrible.
Anyway, that's that, and the 2026 Vegas hole just got deeper.
Tomorrow I go again, bullet 2 in the $1,000 WSOP Seniors. It'll be first rebuy/re-entry of the trip, so there's that I suppose.
Not sure it's wise to revisit the scene of the crime, but there you are.

Incoming WhatsApp from a pal who can't see the 'photos, so in case he's not alone....
Me;
Him;
Flop;
Turn;
River;
when I pinged the 10 turn I did a mental fist-pump, but before I could compute the extra outs he gained (3 x A, 3 x 5 & 1 x 10) the Dealer had rolled off the river & I heard a sort of collective "ooooh".

That was seriously ugly Tony.
Hope you have a deep run to make up for it tomorrow.

Eurgh, very, very unlucky. The only thing you can do is laugh, you know that loud hysterical laugh as you rock backwards and forwards waiting for matron to bring you one of those nice injections.
