NEVER put your home address into a sat nav and call it home. When they nick your car and sat nav they normally also have your car keys too and head straight from home where they burgle you as well and take everything you own.

A valid point.  You know where you live, so probably best to put in a location 400 yards or so away from your home (assuming you live in a residential area) that is on your normal route home.  You should know your way back from there Grin.

yeah - stick in the address of that really annoying neighbour.

When you put it that way...think it's time for me to buy a TomTom

Thanks for all the Tom-Tom tips, especially the "Home Address" one. I'm gonna remove my "Home" entry & put Flushy's address in as "Home".

Poker. Drove down to Cardiff yesterday with Tom, & most of the usual faces were there for what is a stunningly good £250 Freeze. It's as much about the craic with the locals as the Poker, & I adore this Tourney, I'd play it every month if the Diary permitted.

Yesterday it was Snooker-Blokes day, with Stephen Hendry, Mark Williams & Matthew Stevens all present. Weird to see THREE Snooker World-Champs all there together. Mark is a regular there anyway, Matthew too, but we don't often see Stephen there. Stephen seems quiet & withdrawn, almost shy, does not say much at all, but I fancy he's choosy to whom he speaks, & who can blame him? Mark is a very funny guy, got a great poker game too, & is huge fun. They were there because they are all playing golf together today I believe.

As to Tom & me, well, we were on the road home by 7.30pm......

I've never seen Tom look so down-in-the-face about an exit, he was inwardly steaming. It was about Level 4 I think - not even Buffet Time yet! - & he somehow managed to create an 18k Pot PRE-FLOP with his pocket Kings. It's tough to imagine how Matey-Boy could get so many chips in the middle pre-flop with A-6 (A-6!), & you know the rest. And no, he missed his A but 4 flushed it........How on earth do guys get so many chips in the middle pre-flop with A-6? - in a £250 Comp!

I'd gone earlier - a lot earlier......Only played 2 hands really. I had QQ v AA v 4-6 (yes, 4-6), & came third to the 4-6. "Implied odds" says Matey Boy. Marvellous. Rana had made it 300 pre, 2 more callers, I popped it to 1,300 with my Ladies, Rana flat-called (warning sign there, now I'm sure he has AA or KK & I'm proceeding with caution from here) & 4-6 man, oblivious to the danger signs, throws in the call. It comes 4-5-6, & first to speak, I feel I am obliged to bet out, even though I think Rana may well have me. If I don't bet, it gets much more difficult to play. So I bet 3,700, Rana takes off, 4-6 man moves all-in, I Pass easily, Rana says "you got a set?", 4-6 man says "nope",  so Rana says "well you cannot have 2 pair or the straight because of thr pre-flop action" & calls, 4-6 man has, well, 4-6, & Rana & me both get a rubdown for our troubles. Words are exchanged....but 4-6 man apologises for the rubdown, & I reciprocate. Bugger.

Earlier, 4-6 man had played Aces as weird as you could possibly imagine - last to speak pre-flop, with SIX limpers, he flat-called, & flat-called every street on a paired board! Got paid handsomely mind. His oppo hit top two, but my man knew what he had, allegedly. "He could easily have had the House" I say. "No, he'd have Raised pre with JJ or QQ". "But you never Raised with A-A, he may have done the same with JJ or QQ". "No, that'd be daft".....whoooooooooooooosh.

I'm down to 4k now (began with 10k) & I find  , & a Raise to 800 in mid-pos from Mr Loose Goose. OK, let's dance, I push, he instacalls with  . Flop comes Ten high, 2 diamonds, but I miss everything. Even if I'd just called the 800 pre (which I strongly considered doing, but I thought lets get the lot in & try to 2xup) it all goes in on that flop.

Very disappointing, because I've not played a "proper comp" for months, due to work, and I never got to "play", but I still love this comp, & I'll be there for it whenever I can. It's just frustrating when you never get out of the starting traps. For some reason, this Tourney played ultra-fast this month, very odd.

Cardiff is all ready for next weekend's bB5, too. Should be a hoot.

everywhere is playing super fast don't you think? more and more LAG/gambler money around, more and more unusual eg 4-6- bullets to dodge

Could not agree more. Even in EPT's or GUKPT's, the game has become incredibly loose & "carefree calls" are six-a-penny. They cite "implied odds", meaning, "yeah, I read about implied Odds somewhere & it sounds kinda cool". But that's the beauty of the game, if they wanna play loosey-goosey, we have to find a way to counter it. I'll take QQ v 4-6 every day of the week, & what comes comes. To be fair to 4-6 man, he had a mountain of chips, thanks to his exotically played Aces, so fair do's to him, but the whole Tourney just played crazy-fast.

Level 4, 3 players all had above average chips, & somehow got the lot in the middle, pre-flop, for a near 40k pot. Their holdings? A-K, 8-8, & 7-7. The best hand going in won, too. (He was last to Call, all-in). But I can't make that play in a million years, I can find better situations for my entire tourney. Says he who busted out in Level 2...... I guess that's why I never get deep-stacked, I'm too cautious, but I don't wanna change, I get by as things are very nicely.

Tom & I spent some time at this beautiful Church yesterday, in awe of it's age & beauty, more of which later.

Anyone guess it's age?

Or where it is? (It's between Leicester & Cardiff........)

that looks very much in the style of a Norman Gothic church so I would have to say 11-13th century.
