i heard on the radio this morning that there are people employed specifically  to make up jokes to be delivered by e-mails/texts  for such things as tragedies and celebrity deaths etc. It sems to be a boom business to be in.

shorthand typists ??

I'm told Beadle had a hand in them.

I never liked his Shows, in fact, I loathed them, making fools of people seems a fashion these days, & Edmonds also exploited that to the full with the stunningly predicatble, dull & entirely unfunny Gotcha's.

C'mon, tikay, you must have chuckled when that woman asked the alien if he wanted a cup of tea in Beadle's About.  Cheesy

I've about 50 Posts I need to reply to, on this & other threads, but it's nearly 4am, I'm bushed, & I have a very full day on Friday, so the replies will have to wait.

The Beadle Jokes. Worry not, it's just that we see these things differently - but I'll reply properly tomorrow. In essence, though, my point was, "hold up - he only died yesterday". I've spent much of today reseraching his life, & discovered some remarkable things about him, by the way. I could never watch the dross TV shows he was in, but he was a much bigger & braver & brighter man than he's generally given credit for. But the Press turned against him, & I have discovered why. But I'll reply properly - & nicely (!) later to the Posts by CIA & Schnozzle InTheBelly. Wink

I've had the most wonderful day today, busy, full, enjoyable, & successful.

In the way of things, I'll be grumpy in the morning though, because I'll be dog-tired.

I'm in Luton (Hotel, not Casino) again tonight, & have got a meet in Hammersmith with Virgin at Lunchtime & the Primo Show tomorrow night, on which Lucy Rokach will be appearing, so that'll be a bit nice. Straight after that, it's the long road home to Derbyshire, home by 3am, a quiet day, then the DTD £300 thingy at 7.30 in the Evening. And that's handy, 'cos I can be home by 8.30 on my current Tourney Form.

Meanwhile, the Keegan Express continues on track to meet it's destiny, & it's now 1 draw & 2 defeats & no perceptible sign of improvement in performance.

Will he last the Season out? I can't imagine he's much more than 2/1 to survive. And this time, his replacement is lined up. Ready to kick arse. And taxi drivers.

LOL I'm a Geordie and a taxi driver but i think your being a bit harsh with Kev as he has only had 12 1st teamers availible and 2 of them games were away to Arsenal!
I dont understand the  Dennis Wise appointment probably just jobs for the boys but i dont think Kev will be too worried about a manager who managed to get Leeds relegated from the championship.
We arn't going to be winning anything but this time next year i can confidently predict that Newcastle will be in the top 8,KK will still be manager and KK will still be getting constantly outdrawn by any old Ace.
As for the sick jokes about Jeremy Beadle its just a human reaction which hides the fear of our own mortality, most people telling or sending them dont mean bad by it and its better to celebrate somebodys life rather than mourn there passing in my humble opinion.
So RIP Jez and i dont think its a coincidence that he has passed away in the same week that Maradona's apologised for the Goal that he didnt score with his head!

Interestingly look at the recent slide of Leeds and the improvement in Tottenham's play........Gus Poyet not Wise was the architect of the Leeds revival

Of course he was..Wise is over rated and over-hyped

Is that what Christmas Cracker joke writers do for the rest of the year?

I don't think it's who you've played but how poor you have been. Keegan talked about entertaining football and giving it a go. You have been worse than when big Sam was in charge, and he defo would of got you top 8 next year.

In case you missed it, there's a corking thread on blonde about "chipleader". Flushy & his twitty posh mates set up Chipleader for a sort of Prop Bet. To beat the Coal-Miners 24 hours in a cupboard thingie, ChipLeader has to live in his car for a whole week. He can only use public conveniences for his ablutions, can't enter his home, can only spend 1 hour a day in other peoples homes, & only gets £5 a day to live.

It's far & away the coldest week of the year, & it's bloody freezing in Brighton, & Chipleader sleeps on the back-seat of the car, under a blanket, waking up every 2 hours to turn the car engine on to warm hiimself up.

Anyway, he pops into the local casino one night - for the free buffet primarily, & to get inside out of the cold - & gets sponsored into a £50 Freezeout. And ends up sat next to his Plump Flushness. Chipleader bemoans the fact, to his Plumpness, that he's very tired, it's so cold in the car he can't sleep much.  To which Flushy says "yeah, I'm tired too, I did not sleep well last night, it's too damn hot in my flat"........

Now, that's my kind of humour.

The thread is here......

I assume your Sat Nav is now fixed as you managed to make it home last night without stopping off in Luton for the Cash Game

Bracket is in full swing last night   shame you missed it
