They call a straight a run in just about every pub in our area.  They also play with any A as if it's gold.  The lad must have spent some time in Ireland.     Glad you're catching up on the diary.  I miss it when you're too busy to add the odd bit.

Just been a very hectic few weeks, got a lot of stuff going off, blonde & non-blonde & there seems to be a problem with my watch - it only gives me 24 hours a day, dammit.

Had the 9am meet today, it went well, but a meet I had scheduled in London tonight has been cancelled, & I'm now stuck in my Feltham Hotel, not really knowing what Plan B is. Driving up to Derbyshire on a Friday afternoon is not an option, I've done with motorway driving in rush hours & on Friday afternoons.

I may relocate to Luton, & then play their Tourney tonight, to avoid the trek home today.

I went to this morning's meet, in one of the Head Offices of a big Corporation, & the Execs were wearing jeans. I mean, whatever next? John Kirkland would have had them summarily shot. Next thing you know, (OK, a bit far-fetched) folks will be going to the office in trainers. What is the world coming to? Jeans, pft.

I'm surprised he can get up.

Probably dress down Friday or some other stupid and patronising American invention to "keep the workers happy"...it saves them paying a decent wage or just treating people decently.

my office has no dress code so, being a creature of comfort, I wear jeans and trainers to work every day.  There are a lot of people though that are suited and booted all week and dress down on Fridays.  I only bother dressing up if I'm due to meet with people from outside.

We had "dress-down Fridays" when I was working - we were allowed to wear a non-Company tie on such days. Once a year. But they stopped it, after one of the girls  - "The Ripley Bike" she was called - took it too literally.

I know the feeling, I wear shorts andT shirts all week, bathe less frequently than I should and shave once a fortnight. The joys of working from home eh?

Jeans AND Trainers? What? WHAT?

People from outside? Outside what?

I'm sorry Claire, this is not what I expect from my Staff, you'll never be under me.

SHORTS?

This is too much.

You are BANNED, Disruptive elements feeding their radical ideas around are not welcome here.

What you are suggesting is only one step away from open-toed sandals, Lord help us.
