Sometimes when I'm typing, I accidentaly press the CAPS LOCK BUTTON, & DON'T NOTICE, THEN i HAVE TO RETYPE THE WHOLE THING.

Years ago, on my Amstrad WordStar Word Processor, I'm sure there was a button, or an F? Function, where I could paste over it, & as if by magic, it would convert it to lower-case.

Is there such a thing now, on Microsoft?
Select text then Shift-F3 in MS Word. Cycles through UPPER, lower, Title Case. Doesn't work in IE or firefox though.

You'll be alright......

I was in good enough shape to win it with 6 left, but made a mistake, & Dave Clayton got me. I got myself in a hole earlier, against Iron, but got lucky when my draw hit.

Good Final, mind - Dave Clayton, Lucy, Dave Colclough, Rich EO, DingDell, Iron, etc.

I had no need to get involved in my Exit Hand, it was one of those "shall I/shan't I?" jobbies. I really fancied winning it, too.

Chinese Frankie won it, from Lucy, Dave Clayton, Rich EO, Iron, me, DingDell, Dave Colclough, & Mad Bloke. Huge fun.

There were 29 Runners, of whom, I estimate, 22 or 24 were pure Hold 'Em players, playing 4 card Hold 'Em.

Remarkable performance by Dingdell - not bad to Final (albeit only 29 runners) in such a Comp, especially as there were a handful of tidy Omaha players in it - DC, Lucy, Chris Bruce, Basha, Dave Clayton, etc.

Sky Offices, Feltham, Tuesday.

Jeez, where do the days go? Anyway, I've nabbed a desk for the day - been here all day, catching up on e-Mails & PM's - & I plan to try & get this Diary updated before I go home.

Thursday last was just bedlam, running around London sorting out stuff, & I stayed in Feltham, as I had a Meet planned for first thing Friday, at Isleworth, which went well. I had another meet planned, too, for 7pm, in London, with a bunch of folks, but that got cancelled.

Actually, Friday was a bit of a bum day. A shoelace snapped, & it irritates, you know......

So, I switched Hotels, & moved up to the Luton Days Inn, & played their £75 Freeze on Friday night. No good, & tried to play some Cash after, waited for 2 hours with Jeff Buff  for a Dealer, no Dealer emerged, despite numerous promises, so I thought bugger that, & went back to the Hotel. I departed Days Inn midday Saturday, & set off home, which, with some difficulty, I located, & I introduced myself to Angell.

Saturday & Sunday was all spent at DTD - more of which later -  & after I busted out of the Omaha on Sunday night, I drove straight down from DTD to to Feltham & booked into the Saint Giles.

Up early Monday, & took the train up to London (South-West Trains to Waterloo, Jubilee to Bond Street, Central to Notting Hill Gate, & Circle to High St Kensington) to do some filming for Sky. They had booked a Bar in a seriously plush Hotel, so posh it had those little Philipino men in the Gents Loos waiting to satisfy your every whim - towels, soap, wipe 'yer bum, shake your willie etc.

I left at 3pm, after a few hours filming, & not one, but TWO Doorman were there to open the Double Doors for me, & one rushed outside to open the door of a huge Roller that was parked outside. I walked straight past him, "Taxi".......Oh to be posh, eh?

The Filming was quite interesting. I'd had an early(ish) night, & as a result, I felt good, & my mind was sharp & alert - as it can be only after a decent sleep - and I was really (& unusually) quite pleased with the stuff I did to camera. It was one-on-one stuff, no AutoCue, no interviewer, just a camera & me, & I spoke, in 3 or 4 minute bites, without a script, or notes, non-stop for about 2 hours. But afterwards, I seemed incredibly tired, & I fell asleep on the train from Waterloo & missed my stop. Worse still, I was slathering when I awoke.

I popped back to the St Giles Hotel, grabbed an hours kip, & then went & did the Sky Show, with Paul Musselle. Not at my best, I felt, but it got better as the Show progressed. We finished at Midnight, & I returned to the St Giles, no Internet, no Telly, just straight to bed, where I slept 10 hours straight.

Been at Sky Feltham all day today, catching up with e-Mails & writing some articles for the Sky Poker Blog.

When I'm done here, I'll set off for home, up the M25, M40 & M1.

Sky delivered a whole new wardrobe of clothes for me today, for use at Sky Offline Events. 6 Shirts, blazer, flannels, tie, the whole works, very nice. They've given me a new role, & I'm thrilled to bits with it - that's 3 seperate Contracts I have with them now, & I'm as proud as a proud thing.

Tomorrow (Wednesday) I planned, & promised, to play the £200 at Harlow Dog Track, but it depends on how the day pans out, that's a 3 hour drive for me - each way - so I'll have to see. Plan B is the £100 Omaha Freezeout at DTD, the first of a scheduled Weekly Jobbie there. I'd really like to support DTD on that one, & Kim Costa feels the same, so he & I are trying to drum up some runners to get it off to a good start, Dingdell is playing it too. I do hope it gets enough runners such that DTD persevere with it.

Thursday - day off. Jeez, I worry when I have no work for 2 consecutive days, maybe I've been rumbled.

Friday I'm off to Bristol, for the Sky Poker Boot-Camp. We start at 10.30am on Saturday, & 10am on Sunday, so I think I'll drive down Friday midday so I can get some rest & kip before the weekend's exertions, & maybe chill with the Players on Friday night at Gala. I plan to go home Sunday evening, we finish in Bristol at about 4.30pm, & I'd really like to get up to DTD for their Sunday Night £100 affair - surely the best-structured £100 jobbie in the UK - especially now that Luton have messed so catastrophically (for me) with the Structure of their Sunday Nighter so badly now.

Notice at G-Luton:

"The Starting Chips for the Sunday Night Tournament have been reduced from 10,000 to 7,500 at the request of the Players".

Each to their own, I guess, but the structure has been messed about with, too, which is, from a personal perspective, rather sad. It has to be said, DTD's Sunday Night Jobbie is a corker, so it's a bit of  shame that Luton have moved the opposite way, & returned to crapshoot structures.

Such is life, they have to try & please all tastes, but I fear this move is a mistake, which will cost them footfall. Messing with the Starting Stack does not always produce the results peeps think it does, but to be fair, Mother Hen at DTD knows exactly how to produce beautiful, playable, & fair, structures.

i have voiced my displeasure TK, no change planned tho as far as i know. Also, speaking to a few people at luton the majority dont like it!! so who are these players that have requested it? Like you say dtd moving forward.... luton moving back. Not the smartest move to do at the moment.

TJ  Vinny enough of the negatives  Luton needs us to be positive.

Carmel is in the dark ages regarding poker and doesnt see how the actions she has taken is going to hurt the room longterm. The numbers in a lot of the comps through the week have already dropped off from what i read and im sure the cash games arent as strong as a result.

Strange how the DTD comps are sell outs and they have a crazy number of cash games.

No idea Vince. I spoke to over 20 players, every one of whom thought it was a bad move to crapshoot-ise that lovely £100-er. Maybe I just asked the wrong peeps.

They do seem to be overly concerned, & scared, of Tourneys that finish late. But we must accept, others prefer "bingo-poker", & it's each to their own, & Luton must do whatever it takes to increase Footfall.
