have you been able to use that rubber thing i got you yet tracey?

Haven't been to DTD yet but it is in Tikays hands - I suggested he use it as a competition next time he's on Sky, people to guess what it is for a spot prize. I will be getting it back though - I don't want to risk the patter of tiny feet.... Roll Eyes

I planned to use it when I last did the Show, Wednesday I think, & tested it in the Studio to see if it "keyed" (the virtul set makes certain objects disappear), it was fine, I sought the Producers approval, fine, but the Show was a bit awkward timewise, so I'll do it next time - possibly Monday.

I "tested" it on 8 or 10 peeps, none of them guessed correctly. One CameraLady person said she thought it was a diapraghm. A diaphragm?

And Johnny hot-dog..

Sigh....

Walsall tonight Ralph? Go on go on go on go on.

Worn myself out playing golf in the 40mph wind today, so cooking a nice dinner and watching my remaining greyhound in the Derby semi-finals win hopefully. Good luck to you and Tony.

So that's a "Maybe" ?

So if you had asked Harmony if she fancied a little nookie tonight and the above had been her answer would you be slipping into your gimp outfit as we speak ?

I think he might wonder where she'd got a greyhound from and why she was calling him Tony.

Grosvenor held "clashing" Events today, the £500 at Blackpool (cancelled, lack of runners, though a whopping 17 turned up for yesterday's £250), & the famous Walsall monthly £300.

The latter used to regularly attract 120+, as many as 150 on numerous occasions, & in Feb 2006, when I Cashed one spot above a certain J Thew, there were no less than 186 runners.

Today, there were........47. Which is more than it attracted last month.

Why? I'm not sure. But lack of Promotion or Flyers cannot help, any more than taking the clientele for granted.

I'm sad about it, but "Series Poker" continues to attract monster-sized fields. Perhaps folks just can't be arsed to play £300 Events any more. As £300 Events go, there are few, if any, better than this, imo.

Only 47 runners, but a quality field, & little value really.

Faces playing included Lord Wernick, his son Dave (lovely guy), Steve Holden, Mad Turk, Marcus Bebb-Jones, Peter The Bandit Evans, Dazzling Con Cronin, Steve Jelenik & Irina Liepina, Mo Nicholson, Gurinder Purewal, & Red-Dog.

blondes included Mark "MANTIS01" Allden, busted early after a huge 3-way pot in which he held the Nut Flush Draw v TP-TK v Two Pair, left him crippled.

Mad Turk made Yoyo look positively pedestrian, his stack zooming up & down all night - he returns as Biily Low Stack, but only just, as 2,000 chips covers the bottom 5. Can't see him grinding into the money, he'll 2-up early or bust trying.

I shared a Table with him for most of the night, & he's a nightmare to play against, in almost every pot.

The Comp was preceded by a smashing buffet, & got away only 12 minutes late, supervised by Zac & Jim.

Walsall Grosvenor seems badly overdue for it's G-isation, seeming very dingy & "tired" these days, & with extremely poor lux levels in the Cardroom Area. But the Dealers, Staff & Management are warm & friendly, which counts for a good deal.

We watched the Hatton fight on the giant Plasma whilst playing - boy oh boy, that Hatton fella has some heart!

Are you saying this is the best structured 300 comp in the country?

opinion or FACT?

Mad Turk got incredibly lucky against me.

He was Raising every hand, & had the Stack to do it. He showed a variety of filth, & I knew I could trap him eventually. I was on about 3k of my original 3,500, & had yet to take my second tranche. (It is a Double Chance).

At 100-200, he Raised weak, to 500, & finding K-K, & knowing he had spanners, I made it 1,200, hoping to tease him in. He fell for it a treat, & pushed in, After some speech play from both parties, both claiming we "might" have Aces, I called his all-in, (well, it was Mad Turk), & I had nailed his hand spot-on. He had Aces. I rivered the K - obviously.

If I'd taken my second tranche, I'd have won twice as much. How good does Mad Turk run?

I was slightly confused after the hand, as I seemed to have lost my "second chance" ticket somehow. It transpired that once the cards went on their backs, I had shouted "CHIPS" & they'd been delivered promptly, & a quick check of my shiny new stack showed I had nearly 11k. I had no recollection of even asking for them!
