As I am prone to blather on about the wonderful fun I have here & there, & the same names keep appearing, I thought I'd try & put some pictures to the faces I see from time to time.
I was at Luton tonight, & here are a few of the regulars.
To start off, here's "celtic", something of a legend in Luton.
He appears to have developed Ear-ets in this picture, sorry.

Here's "Evil" Edna. Star of Late Night Poker (Series 1?), one time British Angling Record-Holder for the largest Carp (36lbs, 13 ounces) ever caught by a Female, and something of a whizz at Ten-Pin Bowling, too. Also known as Never-Pass-Edna, & Limpet Edna, as she's a bugger to get a move past.

Edna again, on the right as we look is "Expressman" (Ian Needleman) who's an Estate Agent I think, another who runs well at Luton. The other Gentleman is a nice man.

This is Stephen "Captain" Kirk, a giant of a man, who describes himself as a "Magnate". Not far wrong, either. Owns or runs about 14 Forums, including ones specialising in Birds, Railways, Shipping, Photography, Fishing, Cooking, etc. He's a bit cute with google page Ranking too, & always gets his Forums up near the top of google Pages. He does not usually wear such extravagant ear-rings.

Here's Ambro, who's a Sicilian. He's been on a diet recently. That's Dingdell working her way towards the moobs area.

A gentleman who I've never heard raise his voice, Brian Sadler. He organises the Annual Luton Golf Day, & he has a Son who often plays Luton, too.

A most intriguing story in today's Times reports that there were severe power cuts across Britain on Tuesday, particularly in Cleveland, Chesire, Lincolnshire, & London.
The National Grid were forced to issue a "Demand Control Imminent" warning, & asked suppliers to lower voltage in order to meet demand.
The cause was due to a most odd thing. Two power stations suddenly shut down within minutes of each other at midday, nine generating units across the UK were shut, & 4 other Power Stations suffered failures during the day.
Wholesale electricity prices soared 35% to £95 per megawatt hour in the aftermath.
Sizewell B was one of those shutdown, the first time it's done so in over 3 years.
Neither British Energy or EON would reveal the reason for the closures, claiming that to do so would affect wholesale electricity market prices.
What a very strange thing. There is something they are not telling us here.

Vodafone announced record full-year net profits of £9
billion
yesterday. For an industry that never existed a few decades ago, what a phenomenon moble 'phones have been, they are a "must-have" these days.
My little experiment to try & do without my moby from time to time is going OK, though the messages & missed calls do pile up. I intend to persevere with weaning myself off my moby. It's a luxury that became a necessity in record time.

There are also a few words that I have come across which seem indigenous to the Nottingham area.
Nesh; one who feels the cold.
Tabs; ears.
Mardy, or mahdi; in a bad mood.
It was in Nottingham that I first heard the expression "jitty", meaning "path", "Cut-Through", or "back alley". In London, it's just an "alley".
