I really ought to find a way of noting down all those numbers, in case I lose the 'phone. Which is very probable.....

Thanks, but it looks a bit complicated. Surely an A4 Pad & a Pencil would be safer?
New phone should have arrived with an USB cable and software for your PC/laptop.
Install the software, connect the phone via the lead and hey presto you should be able to syncronize your phone contacts into Microsoft Outlook.

USB? Microsoft Outlook?

Modern technology...........I suppose pen & paper will probably suffice.................good luck writing some 750 odd contacts manually to shreds of paper that will probably get filed under B fof bin lol

Pen & paper? Steady on. I prefer a pencil, more reliable. I don't trust these new-fangled pen things.

New technology is introduced into Kendall's neighbourhood.  Here is a young family relative with a PDA.

Parking Tickets all paid now. Phew.

US Citation - not sorted, don't have a clue what to do.

But 77dave - Jim McShane, who lives in Vegas now, has offered to help me sort it.

Meanwhile, back at New-Phone-Ville......

It appears the new bloody 'phone machine is on some sort of "Call Divert". I've received 4 e-Mails & PM's from folks who have attmpted to ring me, but it went straight to "Message" apparently.

It worked this morning, because I took a call from Tom OK.

I must have pressed a button or something.

I'm gonna go to Luton tonight & ask Simon Galloway to take a butchers for me.

What a bloody nightmare.

Im currently reading "Ace On The River" by Barry Greenstein.

Now Tikay I know you don't read poker books but i highly suggest that you pick this one up. I have so far read 180 pages and he so far hasn't given any advice on how to play any given hand, in fact he hasn't even mention hands except to say you already know your own style and starting hand requirements.

What he has done is written about how poker should be played. He speaks of the ethics of poker. What it means to play with class. How to survive the game in the long term and staying away from the nippers. Of course in 180 pages he talks of a lot more, all very impressive stuff imho.

Here are some quotes he puts in the book, I know your a fan of a good quotations.

"When you have to kill a man, it costs nothing to be polite"   Sir Winston Churchill

"I'm a great believer in luck, and I find the harder I work, the more I have of it"    Thomas Jefferson

"The root of all superstition is that men observe when a thing hits, but not when it misses"    Sir Francis Bacon

"The secret of success is sincerity. Once you can fake that you've got it made"   Jean Giraudoux

"Good people do not need laws to tell them to act responsibly, while bad people will find a way around the laws"   Plato

"Education costs money, but then so does ignorance"   Sir Moser Claus

"Behind every successful man there is a suprised mother-in-law"   anon

"God gave men both a penis and a brain, but unfortunately not enough blood supply to run both at the same time"  Robin Williams

"Its not that im so smart, its just that i stay with the problems longer" Albert Einstein

"Be nice to people on your way up because you meet them on your way down"  Jimmy Durante

"Victory goes to the player who makes the next-to-last mistake" Tartakower

All i can say is SIGH SIGH SIGH

Old people and technology = hemorrhage for adopted teacher.

Simon Galloway said he'd mend it for me - it would not ring, & was on some sort of "Call Divert".

I get to Luton, & Simon ambles up. "Where is it then?" says the portly one, blindly ignoring my shiny new super-phone laying on the table in front of him. "Right there, in front of you" I say.

"No, that's your old one, I assume".

"No, it's my new one, only been on the market for 3 weeks, all the kids on the street are well jealous".

"New? It looks like an ex Russian Army secondhand one to me".......

I was so hurting.

I sent a Text this morning though, & it only took 11 attempts. That's an improvement.

I'm really very grateful to Chili. It's possible - not saying it's true, just possible - that in fact, the problem with the 'phone might be "user error".....

In which case, I'll get a copy, thanks Jim. I also wanna get Hansen's new book, that looks a corker.
