The Times, October 17th. (My italics & enboldenment).

"A seafood company that supplied restaurants was told to destroy 200 tonnes of fish because of poor hygiene conditions at it's plant in Lincoln. Inspectors found maggots, & fish that was out of date by seven years. Magistrates in Lincoln fined Allan Rich Seafoods £23,000, being the incineration costs".

Right, I've decided, I'm gonna play Equal Chance's £300 2 day jobbie, & I've booked a Hotel in Chingford, opposite the old 'Stow dog track.

The journey from here - Luton - to there, on a Friday, via M1, M25, & North Circular is making me wince, but hey-ho, no rush.

It starts at 8pm, & I have some work to do Online at 7pm, for 30 minutes, so it'll be tight for time, but I'm sure I can find someone to buy me in.

It's a 2 day comp, so tomorrow will be a day of rest, I guess. No, dammit, I WILL make Day Two. I'll go to Vegas on Monday if I finish top two.

See you in Luton on Monday night, lads. Novelty Comps Rule.

Come on Tony, you know you want to. You could play on both sides of the Atlantic on the same day. You would be like Phil Collins in the Band Aid Thingy.

I have spent 45 mins this morning looking for a cheap flight to tempt him. So far the cheapest 390 direct Man. No good.

465 Direct with wolly from Gatwick.

Very expensive and only economy.

That's very kind of you Maureen, thank you. But it's not so much about cost, as getting stuff sorted out in time, & some other things. Those two will have a ball, no doubt about that.

The original idea was miine, for a bunch of us to go, but I failed to sort a lot of things at my end, so I've got no complaints.

For the final time, NO I DO NOT.

Edit - Well I do a bit.

Thanks Maureen. If I were going, it would have to be Direct, for time reasons (both ways), but I'm not going. Almost definitely certainly not.

I really hope you do make it to the top two. You so deserve a break and how fitting would it be to be with Tom and Ralph. Personally I think you be going no matter what the result is.

Again, ty ty, but "deserve a break"? My whole life is a break!

If you haven't got time I'd be willing to step up to the plate and go in your stead.  I could send you photos and updates so it would feel like you were really there.  Everyone's a winner thumbs up

GOOOO ! Tikay  otherwise ur only have to play against me Wednesday... also glad u spotted my username correctly on Sky last night..did u actually tally me to it ?

I never spotted the name originally, it was the playing style I spotted. It's not everyone n Sky Poker who can Pass Aces. Wink

Back to Maureen now, & I just spotted this.....

how fitting would it be to be with Tom and Ralph

Well yes, it would be lovely, but there's other times, in the future. And anyway, has Raif taken enough Emergency Cheese for three?

im sure I could donate some virgin miles to the "get grandad to vegas" fund to allow him to travel in the style he has become accustomed.

you seen that new virgin clubhouse at heathrow ? man, I didnt want to get on the plane. jacuzzis !!

Is it just me, or does everyone want rid of tikay for a week or so?

Anyway, this is a very interesting story: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/7674157.stm
worth a read.
