I was gonna say that!  There is quite a crew going to Teeside - Fran, Trigg, LeKnave, ChipRich that I know of.  Surely one of us will take it down.

Compo called today, too. He's up in Birmingham at the NEC for some Betting Industry Conflab (what does he know?), then goes straight to Doncaster Races on Friday. What a life he leads, never done a proper days work in his life.

I was supposed to be at a "farewell party" for some friends in London tonight, but had to swerve it, due to PTP. I've had a few Texts & 'phone calls from the party, sounds like everyone's well bladdered. Good swerve, methinks, though it's a shame I could not go say goodbye properly.

The PTP stint was "testing" tonight, but the last session was grand, found a nice friendly table, & we had some fun. Chompy & RobertHM both dropped in, & Sharplea was on the Table.

No more work now until Monday. Deffo. The diary is a bit thin for a few weeks, so I'm on the lookout for some bits & bobs to do.

However, he sums it all up quite succinctly with "The time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time."   Which is maybe why we all enjoy a good game of poker, and why money won seems more valuable than money earned.

However I think you have to be actively wasting your time rather than just passively wasting your time.

In other words if you're not enjoying doing nothing, then you're wasting your time wasting your time.

No confusing actions that I might construe as a check at the £250, please.

Sorry about that, also, but it's very confusing as a dealer because a lot of folk do that as a check. I appreciate the actions after didn't best please you, also.

Lol, I'd forgotten all about that.

1) You have no need to aopologise, it was not your fault. If anyone's, it was mine.

2) No, I did not appreciate the comments by Seat 8. I've never done that sort of thing in my life, & I was insulted by his comment at the time. Even if true, I had nothing to gain by checking! Truth is, he was aching for me to check, as his hand would not stand a Bet on the end.

3) It is true that players signify "I check" in so many different ways, & Dealers need to be magicians to work out the signals, many of which are little more than Body Language.

We have.....

Tap the table

Eye contact

Nod of head. (Not to be confused with falling asleep).

Imperious wave of hand

Pointy finger at player to left.

"OK"

"Let's go"

"Yup"

"Give them a free card"

"Let them live"

And the Dealer has to get each of these right. I think my "preferred" are eye contact, or table tap. Or "OK". Or "yup". Or....

You see the problem!

It's a similar thing to the "I'm all-in" language, where you see a dozen different ways of saying "all-in", mostly involving hands or arms used in a sort of wavy action.

Many years ago, I used to play a lot of Blackjack, (oh, the shame), watching different ways of signifying, without words, "card" or "no card" was amazing, & extremely confusing for the Dealer/Croupier.

I'm amazed that there are not more disputes in these "body-language" actions.

But no, it was not your fault at all, & I apologise if you think it was.

Oh, & before everyone asks, it was 7th street (down-card) in Super-Stud, action on me. I announced "right, I have approximately 79 outs", (possibly a slight exaggaration) banging the table sub-consciously at the same time, but had yet to look at my card. Mr Seat 8 construed that as a check, perhaps reasonably. His subsequent comments were not reasonable at all. Nor were mine, & it was a bit awkward as he spent the next hour with his tongue investigating my colonical department. I speak metaphorically, of course.

yes good luck maria..obv the rest of us just going for a get together and will probably do tez in the comp,lol

there is so much on all over the place this week im surprised the numbers arnt down.but broadway have had good numbers for there fessie,teeside sold out all the side events and looks like the main event will sell out too.if i wasent going teeside i would have gone to luton.its good to see that casinos are putting on events for the mid-range buy ins(£100-£500) as it seems now days this is what alot of players want.

However I think you have to be actively wasting your time rather than just passively wasting your time.

In other words if you're not enjoying doing nothing, then you're wasting your time wasting your time.

It doesn't have to be active, you just have to enjoy it!

yes me to but with certain strong personalities involved i guess it was always going to be difficult
