For those that attended the Sky Poker Tour Leg One (DTD, Nottingham) or Leg Two (The Broadway, Birmingham), there are two photo galleries here which you may enjoy. Lots of blondes.

The father known as Mr X has complained in a letter from his cell that he had got nothing but a prison sentence while his daughters now had the benefits of the children he had fathered.
In the extraordinary letter, the man — who liked to refer to himself as “The Gaffer” — said that he had no regrets but that he feared for his future after pleading guilty to 25 rapes. “All that has come out of this is a long sentence for me,” the 56-year-old wrote. “We were all getting on well before this came out, what went wrong? My daughters have got something out of this — kids — what have I got?"
How on earth did this ogre get away with this for so long?
Most of his Daughters children by him - at least those who survived, as many died - or were killed? - at birth, have genetic defects, some of them terminal.
It's really tough to get one's head round just how bad this case is.
Very good article on the BBC website yesterday about this.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/thereporters/markeaston/2008/11/spotting_a_sociopath.html
People who are drawn to work in social services (at the frontline of identifying these people) are the complete opposite of a sociopath - they are caring individuals who want to see the best in people, therefore they might well be the group least able to spot the bad apples.

Also the law doesn't allow social workers to work/think outside the box.
A client of mine is a social worker who is responsible for making the decisions as to whether a child should be removed from their current environment. This woman is all heart, she thinks long and hard before ever making the decision, and it goes to committee and commitee before it can be agreed. And in the main this is how it should be.
However there are instances where she has had no evidence (except circumstancial), and she is in a situation where she feels a child is in danger but there is nothing she can do. Unfortunately she is to a large extent proved right and at a later date that child is removed, but not until more harm has come to it.
She likens it to 'gut instinct'. Her thought process is 'would I leave my children with this person' and if the answer is no then more often than not she is proved right in the long run. Now she freely admits you can't remove a child on gut instinct, there has to be protection for the family, however she feels she is limited to what she can achieve for children by the current boxes that have to be ticked.
I've know this woman for a long time and imo you couldn't meet a more sympathetic and thoughtful woman whose primary concern is the safety of children. She isn't keen to remove children, she tries her best to come to arrangements that will fulfill the needs of the family and the child while things are being resolved. I find it very sad that a woman who has been doing that job for such a long time is frustrated because she can't do what she was employed to do - protect the child.

I quite liked Holdens first book. The second was not quite so good IMHO. He has a nice style. He should have stuck to novels rather than books on Hold em IMHO
Maybe, Phil, but how did 'Stars come to enter this equation?
Nosey bugger that I am....I am going to ask

Stars paid Holden's entry into the 2007 WSOP and also a few EPT events - they have an established connection with each other.

The images, & news, coming in from Mumbai, are just awful. As is usually the case with terrorism, it's the general public who get targeted.

"Two men whose company sold a prosthetic penis that helped men cheat on drug tests have pleaded guilty to conspiracy charges in court.
George Wills and Robert Catalano each pleaded guilty to two conspiracy counts. They owned the California-based Internet company Puck Technology.
The device, called the Whizzinator, comes with a heating element and fake urine".

I am now, officially, after several calm & relaxed days, in THE foulest of moods.
That's all.
See some of you in Brighton, I hope.

They can pick out a sociapath better than most people, including police etc. Just the restraints of the job stop them influencing decisions regarding children on some occasions.
