I clearly need to be more careful as to how I word Diary Posts.

Three incoming calls today & several comments on different threads, alluded to "concern" that I decided to swerve Luton tonight, after Monday night's fracas with the wasted guy, which, given I'm not working tonight, is unusual for me.

For the record, I am NOT boycotting Luton, nor am I staying away in protest. I'll be back there next week.

But I'm at the age where I only do what I want to do, & I don't want to go there tonight. I'm still stesaming about the way it was handled by the TD, & the contempt with which Richard was treated when he politely raised the matter with Callum, so if I go tonight while the red mist is still present, I'll end up having words, & I'm on a peace kick these days.

"Protest" boycotts don't work, Luton will manage just fine without me, & vice-versa. I'll be there next week, all smiles, when the mist has cleared.

But many thanks to all those who rung, & wrote. It's nothing to do with "then the eejits win if you stay away", I just don't want another night's hassle. I've exceeded my 2009 hassle quota already. I retired to get away from hassle, & I'm increasingly intolerant of it.

the real reason you aint going tonight is you want to see if you can win the RSQ

One last Luton thing - Chompy had me pissing myself with his fondness for nicks.

Referring to Sunday's wonderfully-natured £100 Final, he referred to a player with the nick of "British Gas".

Well this has me scratching my head. Who?

So I went to the blonde Results Page - thank you Dawn - and checked all the Finalists names to try & work out who "British Gas" might me.

So obvious really. The player is known as "Das". Real name, Brijesh Das.

I love Chompy. imo.

You already told me I can't win!

No, I'l spend the evening in my Heathrow Hotel, all alone - there's no hassle that way - & play Online. Got a big meet tomorrow, so the early night will suit.

I think he's the funniest man in the country which, embarrasingly, makes me gush a little when I see him in person

Prob good to let past irritations go a little quicker if you can imo

Plus you'll almost certainly get an early night still

You are not wrong, but passion is a weird, wonderful, & awful thing. Passion means it's not an "irritatiion", it's just not acceptable that the rank & file regulars have to be subjected to rank bad behaviour, while Management look on & smile. See, you've started me off again. And that's why I'm absenting myself tonight. Sometimes it's best to, it avoids saying things when "the balance of ones mind" is disturbed. Wink

I went into town this morning (Ilkeston in Derbyshire), & picked up a flyer for a "turn" at a local night-club.

His name was Pete Tong.

I do hope his Show goes well. Imagine the headlines if it does not.

Go to work, press play on tape.

What's to go wrong?

Whooshed again, I enlisted the aid of google, to discover that Pete Tong is a "Radio 1 ". Now I understand your Post. If he's a Radio 1 , as google suggests, how come he's 49? That's not possible, surely? A at 49? Ridic.

This has to be a level?

I want to play a DVD on my lappie. I inserted it & nothing happens. Is there some button I need to press to start it?

I did the same thing a year or two back Tony, stuck a DVD in my PC and nothing happened so I asked my techy friend what the problem might be.

"Did you order a PC with a DVD player in it when you bought it?" said he. "Huh?" said I.

Well it has DVD slottage Ralph. But it don't work.

Where do you think I inserted the DVD in my PC ?

Perhaps you'd better not answer that but suffice to say mine too has slottage Smiley

Clearly, Rslph, we both suffer from the same delusion - that slottage = DVD player.

Yes.

I think I need a new Lappie. This one's done some miles, to be fair.

It was not mine, originally. It's Password is "Sexy Bottom". It is.

Tikay, I know you are quite a fan of Ryan Air, so wonder what you make of this........http://www.ryanair.com/site/EN/news.php?yr=09&month=apr&story=gen-en-220409.

In these days of excess and everything has its price is this now acceptable, is it fair?

Until I saw that flyer today. I'd never heard of him. Scouts Honour.

I stopped listening to Radio 1 in about 1972. You do when you reach early adolescence.

The 's were Tony Blackburn, Dave Lee Travis, Ed Stewart & Co. We thought it was great "in the day", but it was puerile really. I'll never forgive Blacklburn for his habit of talking over intros & outros. We tuned in to listen to music, not him. Or his bloody dog. Woof-woof, ffs.
