...The Show went well tonight - Rich Orford has a great ability to get so close the the line, without quite crossing it, so it's pretty exciting working with him, almost as his straight man....
The suggestion of blow up Michelle dolls might have been a tad over the line, perhaps?

The meeting yesterday was odd - full of senior suits & suitesses, & not one with a tie or suit. My dad would have had a seizure if I'd gone to work without a suit & tie. Times change.
In fairness, most of them wore collared shirts
The blow-up Doll thing. So, you were watching? Oops.
Err.......well.....in fairness to my good pal Richard, I make no further comment. Certainly, near the line. Not entirely sure which side, mind. I stuck to Boeing 777's, Combine Harvesters, &
threepenny bits
. Safe, but sends peeps to sleep. OFCOM have no worries with me.
The collared shirts - yes, absolutely. I had an "emergency" tie with me, in case I had misjudged things! Very strange, for one so old-fashioned as me.
So no one at Sky understands Cockney rhyming slang then?

And there we go again. We went innocently from pound notes, to ten bob notes, to half-crowns, to threepenny bits, which a viewer wrote in to remember fondly. And then the giggling started. Sigh.

That'd be the BLONDEPOKER Live Update, sponsored by MINTED POKER, to whom we are most grateful.
There, corporate hat-juggling at it's most impartial.
For those that are not following th Live Update -go watch it NOW. A Moorman is winning, by miles. But not THAT Moorman.
Goooo the Old Skool.

Question.
12 players return to the GUKPT Manchester today. The ave stack is about 250,000, at a guess, with Blinds maybe 4k-8k, or 5k-10k, so plenty of play.
They start at 2pm, & have a 1 hour din-din break early evening.
So, what time will the Event finish, when will the very last hand be played?
Come on wise guys, what's your finishing time?
I'm going for Midnight, and I'd be long on that if pushed.
And you?

they start short handed with an average of about 25 BBs? Ussually that means a fairly early finish, say 8-9 PM...but seeing as it's a GUKPT and the dwelling before folding seems to become ridiculous in the latter stages of these things (as per previous updates) it'll probably be between 2 and 3AM

I have no idea who will win the GUKPT today, & I have no preference, though what a story if Old Skool Moormam won.
What a story, too, if Surinder Sunar won it. There was some discrete & gentle mocking of Sunar on the Update last night - he's hopeless, he Passes hands, see? - but check out his CV, which starts back in 1987, includes ELEVEN WSOP Final Tables, a WPT win - in which he outplayed Tony G who was trash-talking him big time that day (check it out on You-Tube - April 2004, WPT Paris), was on Late Night Poker, & as recently as last year won the Amsterdam Master Classics Omaha, for a 6 figure sum.
I'm not that fussed either way, but I'd not be disappointed to see him win this.
When Surinder registerted his first Fessie Cash in 1987, how old were you?
OK, I got In-Poker work to do, so I gotta go.
Have a wonderful & peaceful Sunday.

I was 17 and hadn't even heard of poker...never mind hold em. We lived a sheltered life.

Yes, Sunar FTW - if only to shove it in the eye of the haters.
Never played with him, but from the updates (and his record) it appears he has some very good parts to his game, and then does some unconventional things (which you could call weaknesses if you wanted).
Bit harsh to highlight these and imply he's a bad poker player.

Good Luck to jakally this weekend in his quest for a
Sky
Poker
Vegas package. Good luck to everybody, really, but jakally keeps getting so close, & has been a good, loyal Client.
So good luck to them all, and equally. A bit more equally to jakally though.

Depends what month but his first cash was the year I was born. This is quite ironic really we consider that your first cash was the year Surinder was born.
I'm probably going to be slightly harsh on Surinder (because he knocked my mate Bo out last night with 77 vs AK in a 3 bet pot button vs BB and flop obv came A72) but I've seen him play many times on telly in recent years since matchroom began showing everything and he really does seem to be pretty useless. I saw him pass A10 to a single raise 3 handed and generally play hands in an arse-about-tit fashion. His 82 was pretty horrible yesterday and if he passed AK then 'lol' is all I can think of to say.
You could get away with playing bad and still winning things 20 years ago. Unfortunately now people like Taylor Caby sold their souls to the devil and ruined poker so a lot more people play good. I'm sure back 15 years ago Surinder generally played a lot better than the fields he was playing in. Not anymore I don't think.
I don't know Surinder though and my friend Bo Le (best name in poker?) said he was very nice when they chatted at the bar so I sincerely wish him the best of luck today.
Have a nice Sunday Tikay - don't work too hard.

In 88 I was dealing in his local and I have to say, in 20 years I haven't seen anyone with better table manners at a poker table. He is also a thoroughly nice bloke, even through his big wins in the early days, he was grounded and never changed .......... unlike many others that were playing in the same era.

The In-Poker fiilming is quite difficult here today, as it's very congested, with a huge amount of Railers & various microphone announcements making it quite difficult to record our various bits & pieces, but Johnny Raab & the GUKPT Crew have been marvellous, helping us in every way. Feels like a very late finish to me.
Claire (Claw) turned up for the £100 Bounty Tourney, & did a Compo impression - out first hand. James Browning followed suit within minutes.
Spotted mingling were Mick Fletcher, Rumit, Lucy's Tom, Fari Badmansour, & Sky Poker Hotpot James "lJAMESl" Williams, minus his usual garish hoodie.
Chinese Frankie wandered in, saw me doing some stuff with Michelle Orpe, & I could see that Michelle had caught his fancy, & he ambled across. I introduced Michelle, as you do, but he responded, quick as a flash - "Michelle? Michelle? You are not Michelle - you are Helen Chamberlain".
It's hard to know with Frankie who is being whooshed, but Michelle was mortified, bemoaning that - "I'm insulted - Hells Bells is FORTY!".
