Thought you were in Dublin this week-end for APAT.   Sad

No, we got crossed wires when we were Texting each other I think. I cannot do APAT Dublin, as I have work committments. Work has gotta come first. The Dublin trip is for the Short-Handed jobbie.

Be good to see you there though - it's at some Hotel with a weird name, I think.

Bouncers, coppers, clean-up crew, all have to be paid for

tax paid on the alcohol consumed during the night covers these costs several times over

Phew.........thats OK then.

sssh, stop interrupting when I'm trying to wind grandad up

Poor effort, farce even, 2/10. Try harder.

PS - OK, 3/10, as I confess, I did almost bite, & had typed out a stinging riposte, before realising you were at it.

That narrows it down!    Would love to treat you to a pot of tea and have the old chat, so might just make the trip.  Will give a shout if I can make it happen.

Before we leave "Buildings", I spotted this in my home Town yesterday, at the bottom of the High Street. Brings a new meaning to "development potential".

From the GUKPT Update, to which I was alerted by JR. "one time Tony" as, it appears, Fran calls him.

He was thrilled to bits today, positively beaming, & gave me a quite stunning post-victory interview, for In-Poker.

Think I saw its big brother on telly earlier in the day.

Talking of Monaco, in these days of economic difficulty, I'm glad to see some cheap harbour options are being made available.

All that's missing are the rear spoiler and Virgin sticker...

I was Taxi-Driver for Mesrs Orford & Orpey a few weeks back, so after finishing a Show at Midnight I ferried them 180 miles to Swansea for a most successful SPUKT Leg 5. Helped the outbound journey pass, really, listening to lurid tales from Michelle, while Orford & I sat quietly in utter amazement.

I enjoy my own company, & long drives alone neither bother me nor bore me, I drift off into daydream world, but it made a nice change.

Rich shares my "motorway coffee" addiction, & we stopped twice both ways to sate the addiction. We worked out that we both have a minimum 4 lattes per day, call that a tenner, £70 per week, £3,500 pa, so over 5 years it comes to......jeez, don't even think about it.  I've never really been short of money for many decades now, but I'm embarrassed at how much has slipped through my fingers through sheer lack of discipline. I've suddenly gone all tight though, & have started being a little more careful with what I spend, don't now why, I just have. 3 lattes is the daily MAXIMUM now. I can beat addiction.

Here's Orford & Orpey (just for Cos) in a M4 Service Station, feeding our addiction.

On close inspection, I can just about tell the difference between Monaco & Ilkeston. As to Monaco, I spectacularly mis-pronounced it in a piece to camera today, & so Lloyd Webber was on my case all day. Monarco, I mis-emphasised it.

The Virgin note reminded me of Wooly Jumpers "sposorship" of Brawn GP this year. Somehow Mr Jumper finds himself in every Team Picture - always right at the front - and persistent rumours in Motoring News suggest the Sponsorship tab is less than £2 million, of which exactly zilch has been paid. Such scandalous rumours are most unfair on such a pillar of society & champion of transparent accounting.

The Wooly Jumper pic. You are worse than gatso at attempts to wind me up. Not biting.

But for the petrolheads, I spotted this at Leicester Services. Exactly what is it?

Finally, for today, I noticed this sign.

Imagine trying to persuade the would-be-missus to Wed here.

It's at the Travelodge. At Newport Pagnell Serrvices, on the M1.

Get that one through, & you will have a golden missus.

I remember a story about this when they first started licencing places other than churches and registry offices. a couple of service stations were among the first locations to apply and get the licence though I can't for the life of me remember why
