Yeah, if it's not 7' 0 1/4", it doesn't count. Damn those narrow gauge interlopers, eh?.

I go through phases. A year ago, I'd have been absolutely gutted if I couldn't play poker when I wanted. Nowadays I can't play live very often due to financial restrictions, and it doesn't bother me. Although I'd still like to play because I enjoy it, I don't feel like I'm being denied anything, if that makes sense? When I was in a similar position before I just sat at home wishing I was out playing poker and feeling sorry for myself.
I can still play for small stakes on line every day if I want to, but only tend to play once or twice a week.

Some interesting perspectives here on poker as dangerous.
If you are a snooker pro and get dicked 5-0 in every game you play you can quickly arrive at a safe conclusion that you don't have what it takes. In poker, with luck clouding the judgement much more, you can usually find a reason why you have had the poker equivalent of a 5-0 dicking for a while. "AK v 88 and I didn't get there - what can you do?" When most likely, there was lots you could have done a little bit earlier, like amassing a monster stack so that losing that flip brings you back to average rather than out the door. But the high variance is an easy and sometimes convenient shield to hide behind.
That's mostly as a reminder to myself rather than a comment to the board.

Even though I enjoyed Vegas I look back and wish I'd taken someone with me as a week was too long to just play poker pretty much non stop.

What it must feel like to be a 'pro' on a bad trot, still needing to get up and play, is just too dire to contemplate.
Getting up each morning to get on the train to a job I didn't want to do felt worse tbh.

I'm afraid most of us are. The pain is all too obvious to see in some.
PS - Your Toby Lewis comment. GREAT player, & just 19!
He outplayed everyone, non-stop, relentless aggro, at 25-50 it was 125 to go every hand, he was so comfy playing down the streets, I just stared at him in awe. Reminded me of Gryko years ago, or Camel, J P Kelly, James Akenhead, very hard to play against. They get a big stack early, & trying the old "I'll use my tight image to re-pop every few rounds" mode is dangerous, as they Call very wide & then look to outplay you.
In the Semi, they got him sussed, & everytime he Raised, somebody shoved on him. He just let go, no acting, no theatricals, no dwellage, next case.
I worded him at the break, "you are goinna do that eventually with a hand, & then you will have them all ends up". "Yes" he said, "it's +ev, trust me, I know what I'm doing". And he did.
So he steam-rollered his way to the Final, & was Chip Daddy. He made it 40k on the Button - he made it 40k most every hand, & the guy in the BB - playing 650k - made it 200k. Toby snap-shoves, now Re-Raiser dwells up, he's been caught at it here. Eventually he calls, for his tourney life, another 400k ish. With 10-7, Toby Tables A-K. It came 4-6-8 - scary - blank turn, then 10 River, & Toby never recovered. It's a game of skill......
Great prospect. Can stack chips very tall, too.

I don't like Brussel sprouts either.
Speaking as someone who occasionally shares a bedroom with him, I find this an acceptable trade off.

Yes - I believe he got a Blue belt.
He Posted on another thread a few days back (The EPT Expansion Thread I think) that he planned to play the whole of EPT Season 6, which must carry a cost of the best part of £80,000!
His blonde name is 8-10 of clubs, or similar.
