Great updates - I'm playing tomorrow.

Has the play been loose or tight on average today so far? Are people gambling or are they candid?

Thanks

I didn't know there were so many different ways you could use your hand to prop up your head...

Is that Bad Girl Xuyen Vladar on the right? If so, wish her good luck from me, would be good to see her take this one down.

I think that's Adam Stoneman on the left.

Good news everyone. The tagging system has now been implemented, basically anytime anyone's name is typed out, it's automatically linked to the blondepedia where you can see bios and photos of said person.

it seems to be broke as there was no link for mateyboy

Forget Mateyboy, get qualifying so we can get you in there.

i cant get to a live sat so will never get my head round quailfying

but you never know if there are any mugs out there will to buy me in for 95% of my winnings i might one day play a main event

Sorry, didn't press post for this...so it's slightly late but i promised a silly story so here you go......

As the dinner break has arrived, casualties are few and far between - 3 so far by all accounts.

The players are tucking into the buffet as we speak. To fill the time before the poker re-commences, one of the stories from last night....

....After returning from the casino late on Rick, James and a few others bowled into the hotel bar for a drink or two. They had an idea that the barman wasn't the sharpest idea in the drawer after getting  a few drink orders wrong. Rick said, "I'll get some orange juice - at least he can't mess that up" .....

...."Can i take you order sir?"
...."Yeah fresh orange please...."

The barman disappeared before returning with a single fresh orange on a plate!

One of the welsh contigent in the hotel piped in with "Lucky you didn't order a bacon sandwich - he'd have come in with a pig on a piece of string!"

We await the restart of the poker with baited breath...

......but we are back on now.

One of the casualties pre-buffet was the current world heads up champion Jeff Kimber. His exit hand was somewhat unavoidable. Torstein Iversen had been raising frequently preflop in true aggressive scandinavian style. Jeff found AK in early position and raised to 300, which was reraised on the button to 750 by Iversen.

He flat called and checked the A 7 3 flop.

Iversen checks behind.

The turn was a K. Jeff led for 1500 which Iversen raised and all the chips found their way into the middle as Jeff committed himself to the pot.

He was somewhat miffed to find Iversen with KK, his one out on the turn good enough to win the monster pot and eliminate Jeff at the same time when no miracle A hit the river.......

......Meanwhile Jeff's fellow WHU finalist, Dan Carter is going well, currently 3rd with 22k in chips.

Congrats to Chili, and to the new updater, in spite of that comment about my shoes.

Excellent photos - sharp shooting - I am sure it's not just the shiny new camera.... plus JC, you are clearly a natural at this; I look forward to watching this one from the comfort of my sofa office.

Most of the play I've witnessed has been pretty decent. The field is strong, there's many good players out there and silly loose mistakes have been few and far between, with the odd exception.

Best pass of the day has been Richard Trigg 's laydown of bottom set on the flop when the fourth raise just felt too strong and his opponent's middle set failed to get paid off.

Just had a word with rookie and with alex martin who are sharing a table.

How's it going Alex?

"Pretty *poorly* (word may have been replaced for the purposes of good taste). All the other boys are getting all the cards"

As he had a neatly interwoven stack of chips i asked him for a chip count.

"Oh about 13k i reckon" he said, with a sly glance at the table and whistling innocently. A laugh or two was heard from several members of the table before he reconsidered.

"well maybe around 9k then, guess i miscounted" was the mischeivous reply.

Rookie wasn't looking like a picture of confidence.

"How's it going Rooks?"

"Ha not so great!" he said jovially. We struck a deal that the next time I returned he would have 25k though so things should improve when i next visit him.
