I'm off to Vegas in a couple of weeks for the first time.
Can anyone recommend any good restaurants/bars?
Thanks in advance

I found anything in Paris disgusting - avoid like the plague.
Steak restaurant in MGM good, for a snack the sandwhich bar opposite the entrance to the poker room at the bellagio is ok.
You want expensive? Anything at the Bellagio is fantastic - quality great but you pay through the nose.

I went to the Eiffel Tower restaurant in the Paris and have to say I'd definitely recommend it, was really good. Actually probably the best meal I've had in years. There may well be even better "higher-end" restaurants though, I dunno.

The Steakhouse in New York New York is pricey, but gorgeous. Try the Korean BBQ in Chinatown called "Mothers" I think, it's top stuff.

I stand corrected - yes we nearly went there for our new years eve dinner - wish we had - it has great reviews. I had forgotten about it - we went to Paris a couple of times and ate on the ground floor and it was like a zoo - really busy, chips with everything and the quality was very poor.

I've heard continually good things about Hugo's Cellar at the Four Queens downtown. Less well know than many other restaurants on the strip but its mean't to be superb. If your looking for something good but less formal you can't beat the Grand Lux Cafe at the Venetian, I virtually lived on the place the last time I was there with my poker comps, the food is very very good and less pricey than the high end restaurants. You also got to have at least 1 buffet while your there, Bellagio is probably still top of the tree, but Wynn is mean't to be good aswell, you really do get what you pay for with buffets in Vegas.

I hear this used to be good for Indian food but since a new family took it over in July 2006 I've been there twice and found both the food and service substandard.

With the wine list it was a case of we can't order the cheapest, coz then we look cheap, and we can't order the second cheapest because then we look like we're trying not to look cheap, so we'll order the 3rd cheapest. Cost more than we'd usually pay for a meal for two
Bloody good bloody steak though!

Totally agree... They were using non breast meat for the currys we had... Really not worth it... that was in april this year.

Bars: There's a Irish Bar in NYNY that has a live band every night, good craic. Worth a visit.
Eats: Cheesecake Factory in Caesar's Mall (does other stuff than cheesecake), Noodles - Bellagio, Grand Cafe De Lux - Venetian and Nine (steakhouse) in the Palms is meant to be amazing, if pricey.
Have a great time.

'Niine fine irishmen' I think that bar in the NYNY is called.
I can recommend the second street grill in the fremont casino , downtown.
Slightly more upmarket - 'commanders palace' in the Planet hollywood casino, try the food tasting menu if youve got all night to spare.
theres a pretty good italian in the excalibur upstairs.
I wish the luxor still had their seafood place, that was superb.

The 'Prime Steakhouse' at the Bellagio is the best Steak I've ever tasted.
The Buffet at the Golden Nugget is very good and easier on the wallet!!
