Absolutely loved the old Walsall days. Such a shame so many great characters are sadly no longer with us.
Thanks for the bump

You're welcome Craig. Walsall was my happiest hunting ground, so many great memories.

Remember when Paul Maxfield beat Dave Ulliot heads up, in the Meltdown was it?

I think Paul called Devilfish's AA raise with something like 53os, caught two pair and reeled him in beautifully.

How I loved the updates too. Look at the list of names at the start of this 'At a Glance' version.

In those days, you had to be in your seat when the Tourney started, or that was it, you could not play.

Simon Trumper, who was sponsored by 365Media at the time iirc, turned up 1 minute late for a £1,000 event at Blackpool one day & was turned away.

Walsall & Luton, used to delay the start time to accommodate any latecomers who rung up & said "I'm stuck in traffic". So an 8pm start, where we'd all be there nice & punctual, would eventually start at 9.30pm.

I remember a guy at the old Luton Grosvenor. Bought in, went to the toilet, was in there longer than he expected and missed the start of the comp and wasn't allowed to play Smiley

Yes I do remember Tom.  Everyone used to turn up for their festivals.  Wonder what ever happened to Paul , not seen or heard from him in nearly 20 years I think

He probably hasn't recovered from playing Kalooki with Manchester George that time in Stoke.
