Even though i prefer to play "live" rather than online i find it so much more easy to make a decent profit online that its very rare i play live nowadays. Its much more convenient, there's no travelling involved and i can shout to my hearts content at the "donk" who's just bust my AA with J-6 o/s and no-one is any the wiser.
i agree with pokerron about how to record winning satellites to bigger events. I won my wsop seat thru a $25r rebuy, i didnt cash in the main event so i recorded it as a $77 loss but i got 9 days in vegas for free!!!

Recording sats really is a problem for me.
people who say "it only cost me £10" drive me insane.
If it's a $500 seat, then thats how much its cost you! Whether you won your $500 in a $50 Sat or if you paid it up out of your original bankroll.
If i win a seat to a $500 event then its a $50 STT win for $500. Then if i dont place its a $500 MTT loss.

So overall it is a $50 loss if you don't cash so it did cost you $50!

But if it's a trip to WSOP / WPT etc.. you need to add on "life experience profit" (I just made that up)

the net result is still the same though - a $50 loss, however you record it........

But if it's a trip to WSOP / WPT etc.. you need to add on "life experience profit" (I just made that up) Actually that is true. Especially for the ones in Aruba/Bahamas. I priced the cost of the hotel I stayed in at The caribbean adventure and it was about $5000 for the week I was there (I believe I met Matt674 there briefly). Add in the brownie points for a luxury holiday supllied to girlfriend who gets to sunbathe in peace while I play poker and it must be worth something in the balance sheet

its probably close to a profit or just a small loss. Ive not been playing long and generally do ok but then I only play the cheap tourneys anyway so my losses are small

so why play cash games then? If your most profitable form of poker is MTT's then just stick to MTT's...... i know my most profitable form of poker is MTT's as they best suit my style of play, you'll never find me at a cash table or STT at pokerstars.

yes matt it's 50 loss either way, but 1 shows you making a profit in STT's and a loss in MTT's other shows just a loss in STT's so it messes with your stats. Makes your MTT's look better and your STT's worse.
As someone who takes record keeping very seriously this is not very helpful!!
Of course these packages are like a holiday. Its the same as paying for anything else out of your bankroll though.
I dont know what you mean Pokerron

I add onlin/live wins and losses to my annual running total, ie I win a £1000 seat for $100, that counts as $100 down, then I cash in the game I won the seat for say £500, then I'm £450 up
Does that make sense?
