Hows it going guys. Could ye please keep us posted on Danny McHugh throughout the day if at all possible.

P.S.
express79, do some work.

Whilst we await last year's Irish Open finalist to get busy busy, let's stick his mug up. Danny's on a pretty tough table though:

Luca Pagano
Dan Smith
Thomas Kretschmer
Anders Pettersson
Ben Grundy
Daniel Tarnopol

Also notice the cheeky blondepoker logo - many thanks to the Mayo Mob for their support.  thumbs up

Please let us know the total number of runners once you know, thanks!

The Venue looks terrific, by the way.

Afternoon matey!  The starting number of players was 133 and I also believe that late entries are still allowed in the first hour, so 133 subject to change  Wink

According to the board there are 133 playing today. Add that to the 89 that turned up and we have a grand total of 222 (I did Maths at school!). However, there are 3 empty seats for anyone who turns up late, so that isn't an official number just yet.

Thanks Maria. You are a top bloke.

What's the view in Dublin as to why so few runners compared to last year? Last year, this Event attracted 396 runners!

We're still on Level 1, but on the very first round we were treated to an all-in, and what an unusual one it was too, Mariano Peterlongo pushing all-in over the top of Seamus' McGilligan's paltry in comparison 550 bet on what was a seemingly innocent Jack high Flop. A suited and booted McGilligan looked understandably bemused, but he did take a few moments to mull it over, so must have had a decent piece of the board. However, he did inevitably make the fold, and was left to scratch his head in confusion as the Italian in Seat 1 snapped up the pot with his uber, and perhaps paranoid aggression.

Rumour has it that Sir Acidmouse is here and present, but we don't know his full name and have never met him, but we have been able to locate another legendary blondeite in 'Ace2m' Thomas Kretschmer. Although understandably mistaken for the tournament directing giant, Thomas is indeed an accomplished player and has live experience on the big stage with a decent run in the 2006 Monte Carlo EPT Final.

Big ups for badBeat's Chris Smith, John Tabatai and Ian " Can he make 4 on the spin" Cox. The venue looks like it could do with a lick of paint, or is the decor just "unriper"?........what a sad sad effort.
