Hands up those who thought Mallu would be hanging onto those chips like a rock climber without a harness? Well, every time I walk by, he's involved in a pot, although to be fair, his last encounter was with those action-packed American Airlines again. On a Two Clubs board, Mallu bet out 1.2k, which was called by the UK's Mark Bointon (pictured below) before check-calling 2k on the River. As Mallu flipped over the Bullets, Bointon showed his inferior Pocket Nines and watched helplessly as the dealer sent yet more chips over to Mr Mallu.

I doubt there are too many father and some combos here today, but here's one, Dan and Chris Smith looking to make it Cat Stevens-esque one two Smith senior's certainly heading in the right direction, winning a nice, although not massive pot with a runner runner flush.

Full chip counts will be compiled by the lovely Mad Harper during the break. Fortunately, we have managed to convince her to emulate the highly successful chip accruing techniques of Mr Raab and the GUKPT.

John Tabatabai has just lost a chunk of his chips to Ryan Braver of South Africa (wow!).  On a board of

  two spades

Ryan bets 2K and is reraised by Tabatabai for another 5K.  Ryan holding just less than 5K himself makes the call and turns over  .  Tabatabai reveals  for two pair and a few mutterings from Ryan meant he was behind but certainly not dead.  The perfect  two hearts on the river counterfeited Tabatabai's two pair and he is now left with about 4,600.

The players are currently on a 15 minute break, and Pokerstars are indeed totted up all chip counts ready for a complete list, so keep an eye out for that when we receive them.

In the meantime, check out these fashion victims, although, am I really one to critisize?

Bad news for the father son Gould combo, well for the Dad actually.  Josh is still on his starting stack but Peter Gould is out, Josh told me the news and said his dad just mumbled at him and didn't actually comprehend how he went out.   Josh was happy enough with his progress thoough but stated that "2 out of 4 of us OUT already ain't good!"  I am asuming he means Ram here.

The players are still on a break, but I did manage to catch up with the odd couple, Praz Bansi and Karl Mahrenholz (Karl's the tidy one, if you're wondering). At the moment, Karl is also the one with the tidy stack, now up to 18k whilst Praz struggles with 11k. "They keep calling," comments the bracelet winner. "One day I'll get a hand."

Someone was asking about Bryan O'Connell?  Well he was on about 13,000 and looking happy enough - well not really in this photo but this is the way to go these days, sullen and bored at the table!!!

Not much finger-chip-over-the-line movement from the heavily supported Danny McHugh, currently plodding along on 14,375, but table mates Julian Thew and Richard Ashby are busy bees, the former betting 1.2k into a Two Clubs board before folding for an extra 2k. The reigning Baden champ down to 9,650.

Brace yourself for a truly bizarre hand, folks, and one which even triggered table observer Roland De Wolfe into saying, "I've never seen a hand like that before."

It all started so innocently, everyone limping around to Ali Mallu in the small blind. Ali bet 225 with Aces, as you might expect, only for everyone to fold. Either expressing his frustration of not reaching the Flop or simply wanting to show the table that he had the goods, Ali revealed his hand, but was then informed by the dealer that Raul Mestre Lleida, seated the other side of the dealer, had called from the button in Seat 9.

A stunned silence ensued, until the dealer broke the eerie quiet by exclaimed "Ruling!". As always, Thomas Kremser strode over like the King of England ready to utilise his experience in the field of tournament directing. "Tell me exactly what happened," he demands. After the dealer had retold the tale, Thomas adds in a monotone, but highly authoritative voice, "Okay, the hand is live and play will continue."

On that note, the dealer dealt out a Flop. "Can I bet?" asks Mallu. After receiving the approving nod from Big TK, Ali bet out 200, but ran into an inevitable re-raise from the Spaniard Lledia who made it 2k to play, a bet of which prised an unreluctant giggle from Roland and a couple of others on the table, the Wolfman even commenting, "I'm putting him (Ali) on Aces."

However, those giggles soon turned into gasps as Ali rose from his chair dominantly and shoved all his chips across the line. Lleida called like lightening, which was probably a signal that he was ahead, and proudly turned over . Funnily enough, Ali didn't need to go to the effort of turning his cards over, the dejected look on his face telling a more extensive story than anything on the felt ever could.

However, we all know how much fun the Poker Gods can have at our expensive, and with a small crowd of poker flies gathering around the table, the dealer dealt out first a harmless two spades, followed by a counterfeiting , a River that I was secretly hoping for if only for the sadistic entertainment value rather than any subjective bias.

Basher Mallu jumped into the heavens and punched the air with delight as his Spanish foe looked on in dismay, his fly catching mouth-gaping expression fully expressing his feelings of dismay. A pumped up Mallu mumbled celebrations to himself as all onlookers glanced back down at the felt in amazement.

So, a double up for the Brit, but what do you think of the hand? And what about the ruling, was that the correct decision?

LOLZ!! "I HAVE TEH AA; ALL INNNN!!"

The thing that I find most amusing about this hand is the fact that Ali exposed his hand did not affect either the betting or the outcome one jot. It would have all happened just the same had he not exposed the hand.
