Iwan Jones has increased his stack to roughly 30k now, having just knocked out Harpit Singh with Jacks vs A-8 on an 8-7-6 board.

Andrew Bradshaw has knocked out David McCrone with Kings against Eights while the rather loud Stephen Bayliff has busted Reyaaz Mulla with Ace King against Ace Queen.

Also I saw Alan Mcclean limp re-raise to take down a pot, which got me thinking, that surely this has become a slightly overrated move that everyone is wary of these days. That is unless, you're prepared to also limp UTG with many other hands that you're going to fold to a raise, or limp re-raise with non-premium hands when super deep. Surely your hand becomes better disguised with a standard raise? Any opinions on this?

Mickey Wernick just took a healthy pot from Martyn Cavanagh calling a 2,200 bet on a board before they checked the turn and river. Martyn had missed with whilst Mickey showed , too cautiously played on the turn perhaps?

Ray Harman is OUT.

Still in the middling 30,000's at the moment, I just him button raise but the problem is that another big stack, that of Julian Gardner's, is now in the big blind. Julian re-raised for another 3.5k which took it down, but you can see these two could well play a big pot before the end of the night.

I just much strangeness & huge hand just now.  I arrived once the flop had been dealt and there was much confusion and many spectators.  The hand began with Andrew Bradshaw raising to 1,200 and being flat called after a dwell by Paul Murphy.  The flop dealt was

Paul checked and Andy bet 2,000.  Paul Murphy thought long and hard before announcing ALL IN.  Action on Paul now who has a decision to make with 16,000 left behind.  In the meantime, before Bradshaw made a decision, the dealer dealt out the turn card ( ).  There was an uproar because of course Bradshaw never announced anything..  Red cheeked stuff for the dealer now, as the TD had to come over for a decision on what next!

The TD annouced that the turn card had to be discarded and a new one retrieved from the deck, third card from bottom if Andy decided to make the all in call.  Andy paraded around the table, a few "ffs" later and Andy goes "Here then, have it, I call!" and pushes his chips over the line:

Andy Bradshaw
Paul Murphy

A lot of oooo's and rrrrrrr's from the crowd and more "ffs" from Andy Bradshaw and then even more madness.  The dealer deals out another burn card and

and then another burn and  ....

Uproar again as the dealer NEVER took the third card from the bottom!!!!!!!  Now TD has to step into action to physically discard the last 2 cards and actually take the cards that should have been the turn and river.  Grrrrrrrrrr for Andy who has since left and is 3 tables away grumbling to himself.  Anyhow the second set of cards were a Q and a 9 and Andy's 10's still didn't win...

After the 9 last card Andy actually came back and said

"Did I win that time?  Can I have a third go?"

Sorry I shouldn't laugh but at least Andy knowing he made the wrong call with the 10's did at least make light of it afterwards.  Poor Paul Murphy was just sat through the hand a little shell shocked by events.  It has resulted in him having the current chip lead and 65,000 chips.

LOL @ this whole hand. Unusual as the GUKPT dealers are normally pretty good.

From a strategy prespective, anyone think this hand is played a teeny tiny bit badly from both players? Obviously its in isolation from reading this update but wow.

I think we are coming into the "home or double up" time and we have lost Chris Bruce.  With 11.5k  he pushed with  in mid position and was called by the  of Iwan Jones.  The nines stood up and no more finals for Chris Bruce this time, he will have to do it in the Grand Final instead.

Sam Trickett is also OUT another low stack and pushed with  but ran into pockets Jacks.

Martyn Cavanagh says "Hi" to Sofa-king and is doing good on 36,000

There are currently 60 players left and we heading towards the last hour of the evening and Level 9.

How are the twins doing?

Pete Singleton is OUT. He 3-bet all-in on a 9x Xd board with against I Yusuf who had Jacks.

Dave has roughly 15k, he lost a 36k pot to Iwan Jones on an A-3-7 board, Iwan had been holding A-7 when Dave made a move with 5-4 and missed. To quote the blonde one, "Oops."

Joe Grech is OUT. Rob Sherwood made a call against his push and found his surprisingly ahead of Joe's which was the way it stayed.

Raj Modha has doubled through Marcus Bebb-Jones.

Raj had raised preflop and then bet 1,500 on a board. Marcus c/raised to 4,500 and Raj flat-called with around 8k behind.

Marcus set him in the on the with and Raj quickly called with . No Ten on the river and the Laddies Million Winner doubles through the Grosvenor Grand Prix Winner.

Chris Bruce is OUT, A-4 vs 9-9.
