Are chips with a fry-up appropriate?  I think not, at least, not with a breakfast fry-up but I'm hearing a lot of people are doing this these days.  For me chips are a midday onwards accompaniment.

chips with a breaky fry up = wrong.   deep fried potato slices are acceptable if its brunch Smiley

Ketchup once opened is for the fridge.

hope this helps.

I think chips are OK, clearly though they are not for the try connoisseur, as they are just an easier substitute for the superior forms of fried potato.

Generally speaking, if there are chips with a fry-up then they are usually a substitute for an essential ingredient which is missing.

Hash browns? Black pudding? Tomato? Mushrooms? Fried bread?

Only if all these are present are chips acceptable.

Absolutely not!!

Hash browns, soda bread or potato scone type of thing is a must but never chips.

Ketchup.........in the cupboard, it's non dairy unlike salad cream and mayo.

Another one in the mix:

Full fry up - Ketchup or Brown sauce?
