The draw for the first round of the GUKPT Heads Up Championship has been made. Unfortunately there were not enough entries to accommodate a 64 runner tournament. There were just 41. The event will now be run as a 32 runner competition. Sadly, the nine last players to register will not be able to play and will receive a refund.

Here is the draw and the start times for the 1st round. All matches take place tomorrow on Saturday 24th November. The first 8 matches will start at 1.30pm. The remainder will start on a rolling basis, as and when seats become available.

Match            Start Time
1   Michael McCool   v   James Dempsey   1.30pm
2   John Kabbaj   v   Adam Sharples   1.30pm
3   Barney Boatman   v   Jeff Duval   1.30pm
4   Woody Deck   v   Will Mitchell   1.30pm
5   T Bentham   v   N Ketul   1.30pm
6   Jeff Kimber   v   Marc Goodwin   1.30pm
7   Davood Mehrmand   v   Kevin O'Leary   1.30pm
8   Ash Hussain   v   Ben Roberts   1.30pm
9   K MacPherson   v   Manuel Palanca   from 1.30pm
10   Alan MacLean   v   Roberto Romanello   from 1.30pm
11   David Pomroy   v   Neil Channing   from 2.00pm
12   Chris Sokrati   v   Dan Carter   from 2.00pm
13   H Yilmaz   v   Stephen Holden   from 2.30pm
14   Daniel Smith   v   Adam Heller   from 2.30pm
15   Surinder Sunar   v   Mickey Wernick   from 3.00pm
16   Joshua Tyler   v   Vincent Mather   from 3.00pm

The very last hand of the night goes to Dewi James, who finds ACES and talks Raymond O’Mahoney into calling his all-in preflop bet of 15k.  “If I had AQ, I’d call!” says Dewi.  Raymond calls holding pocket 66’s.

7 should be interesting, if just for the verbals that will go on over there.

Looking forward to 1...although I suppose I should pay most attention to match 2. Yeah, I'm screwed.

Match 1 was incorrect - there was a problem with Dave's entry that was only discovered afterwards, in that he was not amongst the first 32 to register. Mick McCool was, so it is he who now plays James Dempsey.
