Ali Sarkeshik - 28,500

Surely a dead ringer for Hoss Parhizkar.

So it was Ali The Shark in the picture posted previously!

Update on Karlos ''The Mantis'' Mahrenholzer please

Whilst Ian Grier survives an all-in with Liam Flood "Letting it go" (he was shown Eights incidentally), and even bigger hand unfolds on the neighbouring table between Rumit Somaiya and Simon Zach. Re-raised from 3.5k to 11k total by Rumit, Simon smooth calls allowing both players to see a Flop. Check, check, then again, on the three clubs Turn, then yet again on the two hearts River leads this blogger to assume Big Slick for both players, but although Rumit announces Ace King believing he has a good chance of taking the pot, Simon Zach surprises the table by revealing Pocket Queens.

Word on the poker grapevine is that Ian Grier is OUT. Jacks v Queens.

Dave Barnes just doubled through former chip leader Mark Friedman who looks to have lost at least half of his former 64k stack.

The board read:

and Barnes was all-in with against , a couple of non-descript sixes later and he doubled through to what looks to be around 40k.

Just got off the phone to KP.   He said he enjoyed himself and thought he played well.  Think he's got a taste for these big events now, just hasn't got the bankroll (I know how he feels).

Well played fella thumbs up

  ***** MONSTER POT ALERT ******

Glancing upon a floplike

Van Hoang bets 4,300.  Richard Gryko decides to raise it upto 12,300.   Van took a little while to decide (and maybe this is when Gryko picked up a little weakness in Van) but he makes it another 20,400, so Gyrko moved all in for only another 13,275 extra to Van.  Now Van is shaking his head and really is not glorious about putting in the extra strongly believing he is behind.  Gyrko played it just right to make Van believe that his  had shrunk into non pot winning insignificance!

But with so much money in the pot, he had to make the call, so he did with only 10k left behind.  On their backs:

Van
Gyrko      for a humoungous draw.

Turn
River

and Gyrko missed the lot!  That must put Van Hoang on around 95,000!!!

Van Hoang with Richards chips amongst his own.

Richard Gyrko in previous happier times:

Sandwiching the world's biggest dealer, Michael Muldoon and Simon Zach clash in the cut-off and button respectively. With the Irishman raising it up to 3,250 pre-flop, Simon made it 11,000 only for Muldoon to announce all-in. Simon looked genuinely tempted, but eventually opted for a fold. "Did you have the hand?" Muldoon nods. "Definitely?" Muldoon nods. "Kings?" Muldoon nods. "Did you really have Kings?" Muldoon nods.

Who are you, the quizmaster?!

Keith Hawkins is still in with 60k. More importantly, however, he is braced for a boost after purchasing the essential energy supplies, crisps and pint.

Chips, crisps, and a pint - the ultimate Camel combo.

Dan Owston has knocked out Norman Rad with 2-2 vs erm...3-4 on a Q-4-2 board. (But not before Dan introduced himself to Norman as 'Roger' for absolutely no reason whatsoever). Dan then also knocked out Richard De Freitas with K-8 against Q-8.

Brian Johnson has just lost two consecutive big pots, first to Edward Cahill with K-T vs A-J on a J-J-7-Q-A board. "Why not a Nine?" cried Brian.

Then shortly after, he doubled up Rumit to nearly 80k with K-J vs A-9 on a K-6-9-9-4 board after all the money went in on the turn..
