Grantham & Ladrokes Steve Mitchell has struggled all day to get over his starting stack.  Having Aces & Kings busted ealier in the day, anyway he plodded on and recently reached the heady heights of 26,000.  I believe in deciding to go for it in the last half hour instead of sitting still he clashed with Ashely Hayles.

Steve limped on the button and Hayles just checked the BB.  They saw a flop of

Ashley bet 2/3rds of the pot and Steve pushed all in, just bad timing as Hayles was going nowhere with his J10 and Steve only had K10.  No help for Steve Mithcell and he was out in 41st place.

Hayles

It may be cool and fresh up here in the press room, but down in the cardroom I'm sweating like a monkey's bum on a treadmill.

Caught up with all the updates now (8am here), Usual standard, great stuff.

Any news on Jason "Meds" Medley? he is not on the latest chip count so I assume he is out (seemed to be going well).

I like this photo of Keith "Camel" Hawkins so I shall post it:

I reckon this could be Karl in 30 years time:

Yeah he is definately out, not sure how I'm afraid.  He did say he was really gutted because he was playing well and thoroughly enjoying himself.

Paul 'Muzza' Murrell is OUT, A-J no good against Ashley Hayles' Queens.

Play is almost at an end, Maria and Smoopy are just getting the last few hands...

Meds ran 8-8 into A-10 and then 7-7 into Q-Q. Sad

After a long, gruelling day, I think the grinder of the day award has to go this man, the infamous Paul Moss, aka Fatmarra.

With about 5 minutes left on the clock, Paul had crica 23k in chips and looked like he was going nowhere soon (if that is possible).

Oh, what the hell, I can't let this less complimentary picture of Fatmarra just gather dust in my photo folder now can I?

Wake up, Paul!

Last hand of the night and time for shortie Thomas Dunwoodie  for a make or break moment.  He shoved with K8 but ran into running hot Hayles's Aces.  Dunwoodie lost the nowhere near race and went out.

It looked like - although this might need confirming - that Van Huang was tonights chip leader with 130,00.  So that means a glorious seat in next years £3k Grand Final thanks to Blue Sqaure.

Ross Boatman enjoyed a late rush, first re-raising all-in after Ali Sarkeshik had bet out on a King high Flop, before raising pre-flop and continue betting a -Qs-3d Flop. Mark Freidman was the man who folded, allowing Boatman to reveal a 6.

Ali Sarkeshik was blessed with a double up in the dying seconds. He managed to find (1) Aces and (2) cheeky Welshman Dan owston nicking the blinds at just the right time.

It wasn't a big all-in raise, but enough nonetheless, but Dan fancied a gamble and called with K-7 in the hope that he had two live cards.

... he didn't like what a saw.

A King on the Flop gave Dan a glimmer of hope, but it wasn't to be and Ali earned himself a timely last minute double through.

Here is a final photo of the cardroom as the clock was ticking down. Enjoy the visual treat and we'll see you tomorrow at 1.30pm.
