Thank you Rob for clearing up the point that I was not escorted off your premises
Regards
Ken
No problem Ken. When I secured the premises at
dtd I chose not to attend Gala anymore, despite not being barred, this was out of respect for the card room as I did not want to cause any disruption or discuss a new poker club on Gala's premises with Gala's customers.
There was a significant negative reaction in the
dtd club when you visited that evening (even though you were not directly connected with the legal case versus
dtd) and I took the decision that it was best for all parties to let sleeping dogs lie and not have any more reactions like this in the future.
We both go back a long way and understand the situation perfectly. I know that you personally are very "pro poker", I remember when I started playing you lent me the "how to play poker" book, its a little unfair that yourself and Gala Nottingham are coming in for so much flack when it was a corporate decision to fight the opening of
dtd.
Nevermind, we all move on......it is my honest view that Gala and
dtd will be the strongest card rooms in Nottingham going forward both attracting 50+ runners per evening and that Stanleys and LCI will fall by the way side. There are 2 different markets in poker customers, so we may actually end up complementing each other and both promoting poker well in Nottingham to each customer market.
Cheers Rob
