As I have said in my post http://blondepoker.com/forum/index.php?topic=3985.1680 Ken from Gala Nottingham was not escorted from the dtd premises, like many things, this has been exagerated a touch. My apologies to Ken and anyone else at Gala for any misunderstanding.

I appreciate that many people are still a bit annoyed at how Gala have behaved over the last 2 years and also some people genuinely want to support me and dtd, but I think we should all move on, players have a choice now where to play, some players will prefer Gala, some will prefer dtd, so its a win win for everyone.

In terms of cheating at Gala, I played there for 4 years and 3/4 times per week, there were only a few isolated instances of cheating, nowhere near the level of cheating that their card room gets accused of by many UK players (many of them are just repeating what they have heard second or third hand). I loved the bantor there and have many good memories of the place, life just moves on and I am sure when the dust settles and the novelty value of dtd wears off, both card rooms can operate successfully in the same town.

Cheers Rob

edit - atrocious spelling

gala will always be a place that i myself play, alot of the staff there are genuinely friendly and while i personally cannot stand ken's ties, the banter there both with ken and the other gamers has educated and entertained myself for a while...

besides dtd is not open 7 days a week yet Sad

No problem Ken. When I secured the premises at dtd I chose not to attend Gala anymore, despite not being barred, this was out of respect for the card room as I did not want to cause any disruption or discuss a new poker club on Gala's premises with Gala's customers.

There was a significant negative reaction in the dtd club when you visited that evening (even though you were not directly connected with the legal case versus dtd) and I took the decision that it was best for all parties to let sleeping dogs lie and not have any more reactions like this in the future.

We both go back a long way and understand the situation perfectly. I know that you personally are very "pro poker", I remember when I started playing you lent me the "how to play poker" book, its a little unfair that yourself and Gala Nottingham are coming in for so much flack when it was a corporate decision to fight the opening of dtd.

Nevermind, we all move on......it is my honest view that Gala and dtd will be the strongest card rooms in Nottingham going forward both attracting 50+ runners per evening and that Stanleys and LCI will fall by the way side. There are 2 different markets in poker customers, so we may actually end up complementing each other and both promoting poker well in Nottingham to each customer market.

Cheers Rob
