Dave raises to 60k from the button, and Mark Friedman gestured all-in from the big blind. And just as we're all thinking Dave can't pass having put 1/3 of his chips in the pot, he does fold.

"What?" cries the pressroom in unison.

Mark Friedman limps, Ben makes it up from the sb & Owen checks.  3 way pot see:

two hearts three clubs  check x3
Ben makes it 33k and takes down the blinds and antes...

Very next hand, Friedman looking a bit bored - makes it 60k, David Barnes dwells and passes.....

A little like watching these dry:

Sami Yusuf raises to 65k and takes the blinds. Can we overstate how uninspiring this final is?

But hark! Carlos Barrera moves all-in and our hopes briefly are raised for a second, but are subsequently dashed by an incredibly fast sequence of passes that would rival the 1970's Brazilian football team.

Mark Friedman looks to be as bored as us, and has decided to up the aggression, the rest of the table haven't seemingly woken up yet, as he makes it 70k again, this time though Carlos is alert enough to realise that perhaps Mark doesn't always have a hand and moves all-in. As soon as Mark is told it's another 168k to call, he insta-mucks.

Mark still has 1.45 million chips though. A country mile (better than your stinky city miles) ahead of the rest with Sami Yusuf unmoved still in 2nd with around 530k.

In real time it was a bit longer than 2 mins and it was just the blinds and one raise and a pass to an all in.

I'm upset too, the two players I wanted to win or get close have gone out 9th & 8th.... Pah!  Thats why I don't openly root for people.        OR PUNT!

Stephen Bartley, who is here for Bluff magazine and use to do the excellent Gutshot updates also (and has said I can't call him a mild-mannered reporter), looked at the chip counts and said, "What the hell are some of these guys still doing here? They should each go into a room with a revolver and put themselves and us out of our collective misery..."

Yes, of course you are right hotdog - a hell of a lot of money by anyone's standards.  Its just when you have to watch EVERY hand its drawnnnnn out, buts it ok - I know they are just setting us up for a grand finale when one of them snaps and the rest follow suit  Grin

Michael Ellis moves all-in for 87k, Mark Friedman and Sami Yusuf call.

Mark flips Kings(!) Sami shows A-T but Michael Ellis rivers a set of Nines.

I believe we may be here for eternity.

Ok told you, no one snapped actually - It just took big hand V big hand for action.

Owen Lock made it 75,000 and Sami Yusef moved all in, Owen called instantly.  Turn them over boys and we see:

Sami
Owen

It came

Which means Owen Lock is OUT in 7th place winning £23,800.

Finally, some serious action! Ben raises to 100k from the small blind against big blind Dave.

"You fancy going home?" says Dave, which seems a little odd given that Ben has him well-covered. He moves in though for less than Ben's raise.

Dave Barnes:

Ben Vinson:

Board:

Dave Barnes is OUT in 6th place winning £32,700
