Ok, not been playing at this 2/2 DC game for long... seems hilo/superstud have been the games of choice... I am utg and the game is 4 card Omaha hilo...

Table has been quite limpy preflop and one opponent has been trying to take the loose pots on the flop a few times.

I still have approx £200 infront, my original sit down, and i limp blind utg... limp, limp, limp, limp, button (the guy who has been most aggresive at the table and likes to build pots) raises £10 more,sb & bb calls, i have   ... And i call. All limpers but two also calls.

Flop is two spades ... Check, check, i check

Maybe i should lead here?

Checks to raiser who bets £50..

Fold sb, fold bb...

What do you do - would you have folded pre? I know its not much of a hand lol but was loose table and most players were seeing a flop.

All thoughts on this hand please?

4 card h/l omaha i sprob my least fav game in the dealers game,  therefore i only play ultra premium hands  so for me this is a pass for me preflop.

But we are in the hand so here goes

the key to this hand for me is how many way action the hand is on and after the flop.

You know that if a low card comes you can only win half the pot but at the moment there is no low

if the pot is multiway then you are happy to continue in the hand as you can take 1/2 of a multiway pot if the flush comes. If a 9 comes you can also make the nuts and unlikely to be chopping it at 4 card raised pot. A king also will keep you interested on the turn giving you a full top wrap with the nut flush draw

If u check call 50 in a 5 way pot it is going to be hard to pass on the turn even if a low card comes. The only real card you can pass to on the turn is a pair up.

So if you wanna play the hand i check call the flop. Then you will be faced with another decision on the turn.

You cant bet the flop as it is highly unlikely that a pot bet will win for you hear, you will prob recieve at least a couple of callers

I'm a DC newbie, but I think I Pass pretty sharpish here.

We are drawing - drawing - to both ends, the Low Draw is plain awful, & we may well be behind on the High, even if we get there.

Even hitting the 9 might be disastrous, if it's a Diamond.

A far better situation awaits.

Instafold, and instafold preflop too, I'm not putting a penny in with that basura.

Fold Fold and Fold.

Sit deeper, 100BB in DC is pointless.

i have to fold to, why limp blind in h/l when quality of starting hands are so essential?

Fold Fold and Fold.

If everyone is sat on 200 then i wouldn't bother playing, it amounts to nothing more than mindless gambling.

In my experience the average stack in a 2-2DC is about 500£

Pass pre for me.

On the flop though I call the £50 and peel off a turn.

This is why i've stopped playing cash games as few sit down with 200BB and therefore is difficult to get full value for draws.

I find in PL,position and quailty of hands in that order are so much more important when the pot can become so big. I'd rather play a big high wrap then have a dodgy low draw with nut flush draw out of position.

The biggest mistake in this hand though was limping UTG blind!! You might as well have put out a straddle giving you the option to act last preflop.

Really, that seems strange.
Any reason why?
i would have thought some tables could have stradles allowed, others not.
Seems common in all casino cash games that ive played in.

Again straddles allowed where I play in the North West. If private game then usually agreed that only one live straddle UTG allowed, but in the bigger games can be more.

I find in DC that it can influence the choice of game as I sometimes choose stud hi/lo or razz as the low card brings in and no straddle can be placed by the aggressive players.
