We've got a bottle of Vana Tallinn in our cupboard - a cream liqueur from Estonia.  Looks quite interesting.

However, it's been there a good while now.  Maybe a year or two (or three).  Can't see any 'best before' date on the bottle, so would you try it or throw it away?

Will we die if we drink it?

If you add some extra whisky to it, it'll kill any bacteria living in there.

Take  it around to any neighbours that you dont really like and tell them its an olive branch and that you would like to get to know them better in 2008. If it is ok you will get max brownie points and if it is off then it doesnt matter, you dont like them anyway.

The one tricky part is make sure you mark the bottle coz they might put it in the cupboard and forget about it and try the same trick on you when they need to clear the drinks cupboard out in 2 years  time.  Wink

Mix it with rum, that'll be lovely then.

No need to bin (says he who kept a bottle of wine in the fridge for 2 weeks!)

LOL - thanks fella.  Still can't believe you're advocating the disposal of alcohol via the bin rather than via the usual route though.

Still not decided.  The bottle's still here, staring at us.  Might save it for next year...

Man or Mouse? Get it down your neck

The sweetness and flavours disguise the high alcohol content making it potentially dangerous, especially in a cocktail called the "hammer and sickle" where it is mixed with Russian champagne.(wikipedia).
