How many prime rib dinners have you demolished so far?

My God Ralph. I must have gained a stone already.

It's impossible to eat healthily here, or to get small portions. Yesterday I fancied something simple so I ordered steak & eggs. When it came it was bloody enormous, and included not only eggs, but a great pile of hash-browns and hot buttered toast with two kinds of jelly etc.

I know I could leave some, but it seems so rude...

How certain of his hand are you if he ships the lot in you eye?

LOL, you've just reminded me. There were two two spades on the board and when he reached for his chips I thought "OMG! I mistook the 2 for a 3"

Hi Tom where are you staying and where are you playing?

What does Mrs. Red think of the place as a non poker player. Er is she a non poker player?

I have booked for November and your posts are getting me excited already, and at my age too.

Took my folks there on my recent trip, they are talking about maybe going again in Dec and they want to stay there if they do go. They like the traditional old places  Smiley

So its like 5am here and I'm at a very drunk / touristy type 1/2 table.

Its limped in about 7 spots to me in the bb, I make it $20 with AKos it's folded to the sb, who calls.

I can't remember the exact flop, but its all raggy. We both check. Turn, check cbeck.

On the river he announces that he is going to bet, but as he does, he looks at his cards and exposes them to me. He has Q high.

I tell him to be careful because I've seen his hand.

He tells me that he has also seen my hand, and I say "No really, I've seen your hand, you have Q3 and I have you beat".

He bets $100, (and this is where I think I did the wrong thing), I rr $100 more.

He called and paid up with a smile.

Blatant 'I clicked it back on the river with A-high' brag post IMO.

As I was saying I love the atmosphere Downtown and I especially like the idea that I can actually walk around, go to an ordinary store etc.

I also like using the Duce bus. $7 per day hop on hop off. Great for moving up and down the strip and much more fun than taxis.

LOL.

How's Mrs Red finding it over there?

She's a bit gobsmacked to be honest, but then she is a girl of simple tastes. For the first 35 years of her life her idea of opulence was an 18ft caravan with two gas mantles.

Even now she thinks that it's the hight of decadence to have a fish each with our chips rather than share one between us.

Imagine her reaction to Ceaser's Palace or the Wynn.

We had a very long day yesterday trying to track down a data card for my phone and sightseeing on the strip. She saw a dress that she liked and I bad to talk like a Philadelphia lawyer to persuade her to have it.

We went back to the hotel for dinner, but ended up eating in MacDonalds.

Then we strolled around Freemont St and watched the street performers, she loved it. A rock/punk band, "The Nancy Ray Guns" were playing and everyone, including me, was bopping around bustin moves. Rock on!!

We went to bed around 1am. I got up again at about 4am, dropped $100 or so playing $1/2 then went back to bed and slept like the dead.

It was fabulous.

Keep it coming Tom, make sure you take her up Strat for the view. Plus when you get the car don't forget to go to Oatman, she will love it. Old Shanty town with history, plus a bit of route 66.
