And now for one day only...... a live stream, of our nestbox, 'til bedtime (the birds, not us!) at http://78.86.86.4:8081

Wow! That's amazing Rio.

I challenge you to name more of these than Tikay. I'm posting the same on his diary.

Can you name all these animal collective nouns?

Cheesy

I got 14 right before I ran out of time. I wasted about 90 seconds trying to work out out how to enter the answers, then I read the instructions.

I have not done it yet, only saw it this morning, & I was thinking we should do them at the same time.

I'll have a go a little later, but I fear I may get seriously busted on this. Think that damn posh lad has got me sussed.

As of May 1st, I have joined the ranks of the unemployed. So if anyone needs a hole dug, a pie crimped, a bra burned, an uprising quelled, or a step donkey-stoned, I'm your man.

FFS!  Where were you a month ago when I was up to me eyeballs in tillers and turf?!

There's definitely money to be made in gardening.  I'd a price from a local guy to do our work and he quoted £1,500 for the job, including materials and four days labour for two men.

That price was out of the question so Jack and I did it in the same amount of time for around £270 all in.  That included mini skip hire, tiller hire, turf and 1.5 tonnes of gravel all delivered.

Tom would be cheaper, but his prices usually state "Client to provide meals, & copious amounts of tea", which reduces his edge somewhat.

I used to work as a gardener / tree feller and was often given food by my customers. It's a nice gesture, but can be a very hit & miss affair.

I remember one old widowed lady who lived in a big rambling house, all alone save for her pet collie

it was an uncomfortable situation really. She didn't need a gardener so much, just someone to talk to.

One day she invited me in for tea and cake. 'Home made' she assured me.

As she passed me a plate with a slice of cake, I couldn't help but notice that her finger nails were dirty, and I immediately had a vision of her kneading the dough.

Feeling somewhat trapped, I nursed the cake and made polite conversation. The collie was staring wistfully at my plate, and I realised that he and I could probably help each other out.

When the old girl turned her back, I tossed the cake to the dog. He caught it deftly, rolled it around in his mouth for a moment, and then spat it at my feet. By the time the old lady had turned to face me again, I had recovered the cake and was nursing it again.

"Eat up dear" She cooed, "There's more where that came from..."

Unfortunately, players these days are so bad it's virtually impossible for good players to win.

Incredible!

How can you find the way to say so easily, & inoffensively, what so many think?

Quip of the Year that, for me.

Robert Baguley, Andrew Wan, Rastafish and Alex Goulder all low limit local players that have won major comps.  Really love seeing these guys win as it gives hope to all Smiley
