Winter is over; the weather is slowly improving, the blossoms are out and the cuckoo is sounding its’ distinctive herald to the oncoming summer. Or is it? Not according to the RSPB, who are concerned that our native cuckoo numbers are falling into further decline, which could take it from the Amber List where it currently sits, to the Red List; a register of the UK's most endangered breeding birds.

Sad in deed. Decline even worse though for some british birds.  The Turtle Dove is one of the worst declines; a bird that i have never seen in the wild, although on a recent trip to Pensthorpe they had a couple in a large protected aviary...... They were beautiful. Cant see the situation improving without aggressive intervention and changes in farming policies but maybe we should just let nature be nature.
