Did me Mam hold the van up while you put the stones under? Or vise versa?
Orf!
She is far too petite for such tasks.

Amateurs!
Yes, I could have made some chocks, but then I would have had to cart them around everywhere.

Dreenie,
Quick PS to that story of when Regards & I backed you, & you won a bunch of money, to lighten the mood
We were both railing you, & you were literally CRUSHING the Table, 3 & 4 betting for fun, forcing folks off hands left right & centre. Oi oi!
At the same table was a young man by the name of Daniel Phillips, aka "kinboshi".
I recall this as it is the only Final he has made in 93 years.
Anyway......
You do your standard open, UTG or whatever, & Dan then
backraises
you.
Standard stuff, yeah. But there is one thing EVERYONE IN THE WORLD knows. Dan has to have Kings MINIMUM here.
Back to you. You go into the tank. Regards & I both KNOW Dan must have K-K or better.
Please fold
we both think.
And then it gets worse. For some reason, perhaps just by chance, as you are tanking, you catch my eye. Yikes, what do I do now? I KNOW what Dan must have there, but I can't be sending nods & winks. Even worse, Dan is a mate of mine. And you are looking at me......
No idea why, but I then did the daftest thing. I turned my back to the table, & you. Saves me the problem!
Then I hear you utter the words I did not want to hear.
I am all-in
Ugh ugh ugh. Naturally, Dan calls quicker than a quick thing, he does indeed have K-K, & your J-3 is toast.
Dan went on to win the thing. Last cash he ever had, I think.
Strange how these things stick in the mind.
I met your Bro a few times, too, even interviewed him in Vegas one year. Not prying, don't want an answer, but you were going through a bad time with him back then, so I hope you are both cool now. Life's too short.
I didn't backraise, I was in the SB and merely re-raised Dreenie's open. My range was a little wider than KK here, especially as Dreenie had been typically active. Dreenie was easily the best player at the table that day, and I'd been card dead and the short stack for a long time. Two hands changed things dramatically, AT > 55 of the chip-leader, and then the hand versus Dreenie. I had the luck at the right time in that tourney, and if the hands had been the other way round it would have been me getting it all-in with AK and going out in 5th - and I'm sure Dreenie would have gone on to win it.

There's a woman walking a German Shepherd, off lead and without a muzzle, in all the usual dog walking places lately. Up to now, we hadn't crossed paths while this dog was with her. This morning we did. She shouted to me that her dog wasn't friendly, right about the time Archie had reached them to say hi. A bit late to be fkn telling me then, but luckily Arch came back and all was well. What are the rules regarding aggressive dogs in public places in the UK?

Hi Dawn, sorry it's taken me so long getting to reply, I had a senior moment resulting in a self imposed ban from blonde.
The woman is responsible for her dog and any damage it may cause.
That being said, it's very difficult to prove that she is at fault if your dog approaches her.
In all honesty, your dog should be under control at all times, so that when Mrs nasty dog hoves into view and Archie bounds off on a meet and greet mission, you can call him back. Problem solved.
I know it seems unfair that you should have to control your nice dog while she lets her nasty one do as he pleases, but that's the way it is.
Just for the sake of argument, your dog could be chasing someone's cat or about to run in front of a speeding car, you need to be in control. If you can't guarantee he will come back when you call him, don't let him loose in a public place.
PS - If your dog is under control by your side and the nasty dog approaches you intent on evil, feel free to panic and give it a really good wallop with that big heavy stick that you habitually carry.
If the owner complains, feel free to panic again and wallop her.

If you want to know what Victorian sea side resorts were like in their heyday, visit Llandudno.
It's as if the place is stuck in a time warp, everything is just the way it was decades ago. The hotels are still grand, and crowds still throng the promenade.
The whole place is a hive of activity. Cable cars and trams whisk tourists to the summit of the Great Orme, Mr Punch batters Judy on the beach, small boys catch crabs down by the pier in the afternoon, and bigger boys do the same later in the evening.
All the cafés and restaurants have tables outside on the pavement, and the staff work flat out to serve hundreds of those crinkly things on sticks, also known as 'pensioners'.
On the top of the cliffs above the town there is a very remote and exclusive looking little cemetery.
"I wonder what you have to do to get buried there?" I mused.
On reflection, I suppose I deserved Mrs Red's one word answer...
