Do you ever see them now? (The landlord and the butcher I mean)

No, I just left one season and my friend was joining the casino for a job he needed some morale support and after working so much I was getting bored with my 3 months off, so I thought I would just give this casino thing a try for 2 months earn a little money and keep myself busy, I could still go shooting every weekend and I was finished by 5pm and I somehow never made it back to the farm.

Different environment. same deal. Nice work if it wasn't for the long hours and all the crap.

apart from I put on 5 stone in the casino and I do miss the outside life, I even miss my caravan I lived in for 2 years next to the barn.

It's quite funny I had this beautiful 3 bed cottage on the other side of the farm overlooking the lake, it truly was a scene you would get on a biscuit tin, but I used it about once a week. I ate in the pub or got meals delivered by this lovely lady that adopted me from up the road, I looked after her young lad and let him hang about the farm, and she fed me.

So I stayed in this 30 ft trailer caravan thing similar to yours I think Tom just a bit more run down and covered in everything you expect to find in a farm yard.

My parents would come up every fortnight and they would stay in my cottage or my mates would bring girlfriends for little breaks away, I enjoyed most of my years in the casino industry mainly due to the rise of the poker scene and my involement with that but I do wish I had maybe gone back to the gamefarm.

Yeah, but I'm not even looking after a field of Latvian nymphomaniacs for £330 a year.

Good point.

If animals are your thing then I suppose it's not all about the money.

it's not even about the animals mate, the only job with animals that I have had was raising them to be shot for sport, so you cant call it a love of animals, it's more of a respect for them. You only live once might aswell do as much as you can with the one life you have.

If you look back to where Eccose posted the picture of "Blue" the collie, you will notice that he has a wall (or blue) eye.

http://blondepoker.com/forum/index.php?topic=30601.msg766125#msg766125

A few pages further on, in reply to Alex Martin's question, I talk about a man called Brian Plummer, and his excellent book "Merle - The Start Of A Dynasty".

http://blondepoker.com/forum/index.php?topic=30601.msg767119#msg767119

A popular lurcher cross is collie x greyhound, Brian used a particular strain of collie, The strain that he used carried the "merle" gene.

The blue eye in Ecosse's collie shows that he carries the blue merle gene. Merle lurchers breeding true to type often have a blue eye and also a distinctive "Blue" pattern on their coat.

Below is a picture of my son Tommy, along with Cassie, my Staffordshire bull terrier, and Blue, my merle lurcher puppy.
