actually Tom you'd already explained it just as well with

I don't really want to get into this, but there is more than one way to skin a cat. (No pun intended) All I said was "I didn't report them"

What a tale! Could be the best ever Red tale.

Then again, there's Peggy Shitter.

And that black Foal.

And Billy Doughnut.

Or you & your Dad in the lorry.

I can't find the reference now, but I think you said "you can't (or don't) eat badgers, or badger meat". Why is that, please?

Second-hand car story next please. And the rest of the story of your arrival at your current spot.

Tom, you are like your Tales - so special. Good to chat today, sorry I've been AWOL & busy again. We will get to Croft Quarry soon.

Oh yes - tell us about those two "lousy" horses you just got.

Go on - you know you want to. If not, I'll restart my Diary.

Not forgetting the Willy Hotdog story which we've been waiting ages for....

It's a good question, and I don't really know the answer, but thinking about it, it's probably because...

I wasn't taught to do it.

I have never seen or heard of anyone else doing it.

I don't know a good, humane way of catching/killing them.

I just don't fancy it. I think that for the most part, herbivores make better eating than carnivores, and prey animals make better eating than do animals which are themselves hunters.

Oh yes - tell us about those two "lousy" horses you just got.

This refers to a PM I sent to Tony last week.

Johnny Hotdog, (aka Jimmy Hotpot) brought me two fillies to look after today.

They're a bit skittish, a bit wormy, a bit lousy, a bit under weight, and a bit pregnant.

Lovely.  Smiley

As of now they have been wormed and deloused, they are putting on weight at an alarming rate, and they are almost over their skittishness.

I think at least one of them is still a bit pregnant though.

I think you'll find it's Willy Hotdog.

Any chance of some pics of them?

Pictures? Yes. Will post some tomorrow.

They were playing at running away today. Horses like to play at running away.

It was triggered by me starting the lawnmower, they haven't seen it before and it spooked them, so they ran hell for leather to the other end of the field. They soon realised that it wasn't really a threat, but they obviously decided that it would be much more fun to pretend that it was.

They stood side by side at the point in the field that was closest to the grass that I was mowing, then, as the mower approached them, they pretended to be really scared, rolling their eyes and tossing their heads. When the mower got really close, they broke ranks and galloped away, tails high, to the other end of the field, only to return immediately and do it all over again.

They were just like two big school girls. you could almost hear then giggle.
