Had to look it up.

Could have been worse...

Prof Brian Cox.

Slightly smug I will grant you, but he has a lot to be smug about.

tikay on the other hand is very modest, but then he has a lot to be modest about.

You will likely enjoy Hannah Fry. A doctor in fluid dynamics, she did a brilliant show on numbers and how maths works.

This is part one of three.

Part two has my absolute favourite thing in maths: the infinity hotel.

And here is part three:

She's not in the least bit smug and explains things very well.

Thanks Tal.

I struggle with anything other than the most basic maths so I need good explainers.

It's pitched at the same level as Brian Cox: if you are a complete novice, but are interested in it, you will get plenty out of it.

Well I've watched the first 10 minutes of the first episode and I've already reached one conclusion.

I would.

Have you guys been watching Kate Humble's series about "Living With Nomads" Tom.

The last one with the Mongolian nomads is a really good hour's telly.

I have it recorded Ralph.

Meanwhile, may I suggest 'Wonders of life' series with prof Brian Cox. Some people like to start by watching episode 4, followed by episode 3, but I recommend starting with episode 1 and then progressing sequentially.

hmmm I really hope those "hand reared" lion cubs in episode three weren't being destined to be shot by some inadequate pos.

I did. I worried that my i/10 joke was too easy to misconstrue though, especially as it probably makes no sense.

Episode 2 here I come.

I appreciated it. I didn't think you were awarding the square root of minus one out of ten!

Enjoy the infinity hotel.

I've heard about the infinity hotel before but for me it's like the big bang theory, I understand it while someone is explaining it but when I try to explain it to someone else I realise I don't understand it at all.

I wonder if people would tell me about their sleeping patterns?

For this last few months I have been too tired to say up beyond midnight, but I wake up around 4am and have no further interest in sleeping.

4am is too early to get up so I lie there listening to the radio until about 6am when I usually nod off again. At 7am when it's time to get up I feel like I could sleep forever.

I'll let the expert do her thing first, but if that doesn't work, I'll have a go.
