Does anyone know what they call those little snipe-nosed tweezer-come-pliers, (Preferably the ones with the curved jaw) that stay closed on their own when you squeeze them?

You often see them in gangster films when some drunken bent sawbones is using them to remove a bullet from a patient who can't go to the hospital because the feds have an APB out on him and all gunshot wounds have to be reported.

You can get bent nosed snipe pliers

I know Trev but I want those that stay closed when you close them.

There is a proper name for them, I remember from when I was a nursing assistant in the mafia.

I'd love to, but I think anonymity was the main reason for the PM. (No sarcasm intended)

I've bought the straight ones as hemostat forceps. May help in trying to find the best deal.

LOL, no I was making a new lead for the dog, wanted one like police dog trainers use, with a dog lead hook at either end and some loops at various points allowing you to adjust the length depending where you are. I braided it from paracord & the forceps were really good for working the tight braid at the ends to seal them off.

You can now get them for less than a £5er on Amazon

Hi Rod

Most Halti brand dog leads are like that and good quality if you ever need another one.

Great stuff.

I do loads of things that are probably not worth doing but hey, sense of achievement/chance to learn something and all that.

I just get lightweight ones off ebay now, they take up less room in my pocket and Kerry's only wee. Cheers though.

I seem to get a colony of wasps every year Rod, you're welcome to those feckers.

Last year they were behind the freezer and easy to get to, but the year before they were under the Portacabin and totally inaccessible. I had to swat as many as I could and make a sugar-water trap for the rest.
