The dog keeps looking at me with a "OK, you've had your fun, now just bring it back so that I can go to bed" expression.

I guess you were waving some memories away there.  x  Hope we get an invite to the new one.

For "New one" read "Slightly less old one"

Well lets say then , hope we soon get to return.

Question for cash players.

Do you find it difficult to play against someone who sits down with a short stack (say 15/20bb)?

i have done some shortstacking, it's not as easy as I thought it might be, the expert SSers have done a lot of Maths and I'm far too lazy to bother with that.

I think I could prob 16 table 1/2 and 2/4 for a half decent hourly rate but I found it to be pretty soul destroying TBH. Everyone hates you, if you wanna do it properly you need to hit n run everyone which I could never bring myself to do and the swings are brutal. If you have a proper bankroll for 5/10 like 50K or whatever then losing 35 out of 50 flips won't seem too bad but if you're doing it on a short roll it's pretty stressful.

most SSers at my level are terrible, you'll need to be good at 5/10. if everybody gets good at it then cash games as we know them will change dramatically, for the worse imo.

Echoes my thoughts as well.

The odd competent shortstacker is annoyance as it completely changes the table dynamic especially if he has position on you. As you have to adapt your opening ranges as you will ofter get shoved on by the sser, therefore opening with suited connecters and the like is -ev often.

Fortunately most shortstackers are bad.

Shortstackers are the wasps of the poker table. they buzz around annoying you and may occasionally sting you. Eventually you will squash them.

Have saved this thread for when I had time to do it justice.

Today is that Day, and Red, a wonderful morning it has been.  An excellent diary.

I look forward to keeping up to date on a daily basis.

Why thank you peeps, very nice of you to say so.

There is a PS to yesterday's shenanigans. Just as I had got finished ,and settled down to my tea, (or dinner, depending on upbringing) there was a knock on the door. I opened it to find an enforcement officer from the council standing on the step. Apparently, some kind soul had reported that I was moving a huge caravan ON TO the land, and so he had been dispatched to investigate.

Today, I will be mostly having a big bonfire in the field. It will be so therapeutic.

FFS.  Will that same officer return after you're new home is delivered or does he have more sense than the moron who phoned them?

Enjoy the bonfire!

I did enjoy the bonfire. It was a beautiful day here and I sat for ages, poking, prodding and basking in the warmth. When I came inside, my clothes and hair smelled of wood smoke, it was so nostalgic, (smells often are) it took me back to when my mam used to cook outdoors.

They must have been looking out as the caravan slid off the transporter! Wink

I spotted these bracket fungi. There are loads of varieties, most of them grow on trees. Some, like these, are plain, and some are brightly coloured. They can be anything from a single conk (the visible part) to clusters of several hundred.

Most of the fleshy ones are edible, and used to form a regular addition to our diet, but like so many of the old skills, the ability to identify (and avoid) the toxic ones has for the most part been lost.

Look out for them the next time you take a walk, you  will be amazed at how common, and yet diverse they are.

Fungi is/are the most amazing thing Tom.

Scientists & Naturalists used to consider them part of the Plant Kingdom, but now they are recognzed as neither Animal or Plant, & they have their own, very complex, Kingdom. (Scientists divide the living world into types, known as Kingdoms).

They play a most interesting role in Nature, & yeast (necessary for Beer & Bread) is a well-known fungi.
