It would be easy to nab him without filling him full of shot (And I would if I needed to) but I'm mellowing in my old age. He brightens the place up, and what's more, red hot, ready-cooked chickens are £6 for two at Asda.

PS- you can buy big bags of frozen chicken quarters for next to nothing. they would make a great treat for Ronnie every now and again. Be sure to feed them to him raw though, cooked chicken bones are lethal.

Yeah he loves raw chicken. I've got a freezer full.

Raw meat is all he eats tbh. I've not fed him regular dog food for about 2 years.

Someone told me to keep a bucket in my car in case I happen across any roadkill as well but I can't quite bring myself to do it.

That's a shame. A bit of fur and feather would be really good for him.

I know. I should do it really but it's all a bit gruesome.

I've given him a squirrel before but he just sniffed it. I think I'd need to chop it in half before he knew what to do with it.

I might follow your advice. Next time I see a splattered pheasant I'm having it.

A friend of mine hit a badger in his car.  It did a lot of damage to the car (£5K's worth), but unfortunately a lot more damage was done to the badger.  I think that would have kept Ronnie happy for a good week or so.

Now that's the sort of thing we're talking about.

He eats about 20lbs per week. What's a badger? I'd guess twice that fully grown?

Really?

Can you shoot one of them for me then please.

And if you see any rabbits running by I'll take half a dozen.

He would be very unlikely to eat badger. There's something about non prey species that puts them off. Notice how a lion will kill a hyena, but he won't eat it.

Looks like the Badger's off the hook then.

I saw something on tv about that once. Very strange how they just know which is which.

I guess a meat eater must smell different to a grazer.

I'd imagine it's an absolute delight mate.

Are you attending DTD at the weekend?
