Should that not be "come AND see that partridge" ? Wink

Bugger!

Not wrong Ralph.

Red's English is rubbing off on  me.

Hypocrisy!! I am affronted, incensed and indignant.

If some tiny element, some infinitesimal molecule of my boundlessly comprehensive vocabulairy should undergo an abrasive transposition, and in that process  become part of your lexicon, it would then be veracious for you to consider it a result.

Sorry Tom, but vocabulary is not "matter", & as such, does not contain any molecules.

Take the dog a walk. Quaint, yes, right, no. The dog goes to the walk, the walk does not go to the dog.

The default setting in these matters is what would HM The Queen say. She would take the corgis FOR a walk.

She would take one's dog a walk.

She might just let one's corgis out the back for a crap.

Helped a friend out today to run some cars in to the scrapyard. Turns out old man Penfold that owns it is a Gypsy, had these vans parked next to his house which is inside the scrapyard. Thought the pic maybe of interest to you Red.

 Hi Rio.

I once got arrested and charged with "Trespassing in persuit of game" in March. I wasn't guilty though, I was fitted up by the police and a local farmer.

I went to court and conducted my own defence, which was  mostly based on my proving that the lurcher bitch I had with me with me gave birth to 7 puppies less than a week later.

Happy days.

How much do those caravans go for ? price for in that state, and done up.

It all depends Kev. That one is pretty basic with little or no ornamental chamfering, fretwork or gold leaf etc.

Prices range from a few grand to over 100k.

Red, was on the train from Manchester up to Scotland this afternoon & noticed a few ponies/horses in fields with the 2 tone (piebald?) coats, long hair above the hooves & not looking like riding horses. Would these be Gypsy horses as in  your stories?

If they were all piebald or skewbald and had a sort of broad, chunky appearance then yes, almost certainly Rod.

Have a look on this thread Kev. There is a pic of a wagon with a gold leaf horse motif on the door and a matching dray off to one side.

That's a good wagon.

Yes. The magistrate was a real savvy old bird. kept asking question like "How was the defendant dressed?" "Sandals eh? are they good for hare coursing?"
