Tom
I am in the same situation as you reference poker.
I have been trying different venues, constantly being card dead, grinding for 10 hours and then missing the money, getting the last bit in and being outdrawn and waiting and knowing that i will be outdrawn.
It then comes down to confidence, you find yourself betting to much when you should be betting less, and betting not enough when you should be betting more.
My answer at the moment, go onto the likes of poker stars tv and spend time watching the EPT tournies etc. DVDs of good tournies challenges etc to get your mind back to positive thinking. Importantly go onto big poker site eg stars and enter numerous low stake tournies playing a little looser so as to donk a few out whilst the buy in stake is not to important.
I have hardly been to DTD this last two months as you know, and after spending hours on end doing the above i certainly feel alot fresher and not so negative.
Hope this helps and good luck Tom

Finally, and I hope you don't mind me posting this on here but some months ago (October I think) myself, you, Hopkin and Kinboshi were playing in a cash game at DTD where the following hand took place (amounts aren't exact but similar). There was a straddle to £4 in the game and one flat call when Hopkin raised to £20 on the button. You called from the big blind and the limper also called. The flop was K64 and you both checked to Hopkin who led for £40. You raised to something like £110 and Hopkin moved all in. You passed showing KJ. You were right to fold as the clown faced luckbox had the aces but you 'raised for information' which is only going to be a play that costs you money in the long run. The only card that really scares you on the turn is an Ace and Hopkin is either bluffing or had you beat. By raising him here you shut out worse hands and lose value and only keep better hands in the pot (losing money yourself). If you had called and seen a King or particularly a jack on the turn you stood to win a big pot for stacks on the turn.
This is the kind of hand that you should be posting on PHA Tom. I know you don't like people's attitudes on there but I'm sure that the guys that matter know your opinions and would be helpful rather than tear in to you. First thing I'd say with this hand is pass pre. It's too expensive at 10 bigs to get involved with a hand like this oop. Just throw your 2 quid in to the middle and watch the hand as it plays out. You're basically joining in the gambling game with the drunken kidz. Now this may seem like fun but it's a high variance game and you shouldn't be doing it. This pot was always likely to end up big and need a big hand to win or a silly bluff to lose. Just stay out of them. These pots are not your bread and butter. If everyone's deep enough then set mining can be good here but KJ is not going to win this pot often enough to be profitable.

Mrs Red has had the old photograph albums out, so I nicked a few to post on here. (Pardon the crooked ones, I snapped them with my phone) How did someone like me manage to pull someone like her? | Click to see full-size image. |

Remember I posted a pic of a child sitting on a milk churn a while back? I said at the time we had one just like it. My sister Susie is on the right, and my daughter Muzelley (Now in her 30's) is sitting on the churn. | Click to see full-size image. |

Lol. The kids had no X Box or PS2 in those days. If they wanted adventure, they had to go out and have one themselves.
