I was bought up to believe  - or at least, told to believe, but I never did - that if you don't eat green veg you'll die of pox at a early age, you MUST eat copious amounts of green veg to be healthy.

I can't be doing with all that codswallop, I really can't.

I DID, however, buy the "being optimistic/happy means you are less likely to be ill & more likely to live longer" thing you Posted yesterday.

Just shows, if it suits me, I'll believe 'owt. And if it don't, I won't.

Stubborn ftw.

I just love this logic. When I was on the knocker it was my bread & butter.

Because you used it "against" the punter/buyer to make a sale?

Not against, that word has such negative implications. I used it as a reference point. A sort of common ground upon which we could both agree. A place from which I could to begin the process of supplying what suited them.

lol, so what I said, but put nicer.

First, face the same way, put your arm round them......

You did that yesterday, elsewhere, & followed it up with "me too, I was fishing". I pmsl all evening about that 1 liner.

Hahaha! I was going to quote precisely that line in this post, but you got there before me.

I've seen goats do some pretty acrobatic things. I looked out of an upstairs window once and there was a goat on the sill outside staring back at me.

This one takes the biscuit though. How Hoes it keep it's balance with no arms to wave about?

The goat is actually two specially trained small children in a goat costume.

The monkey may also be a hairy toddler.

I guess the use of words evolves over time, and what was a slang word becomes an everyday term?

You going to DTD for the Poker For Heroes day?
[/quote]

Already started planning for it sir.

If Cheryl gets in touch like you asked, ask her to show you the photo of the young lads gravestone from the day a white dove visited - truly awesome pic. I got a message to the lady and put her in touch with a friend who runs a memorial site for all fallen soldiers who is in the process of building a library of pics of the resting places of those fallen, he was delighted to receive a copy.

I have, at one time or another, been described as: a Gypsy Activist, a Gypsy Leader, A Gypsy Expert, and, (God help me) a Gypsy Elder.

would you go on a TV program such as BFGW to do an interview like the chap at appleby?

Only if it was transmitted live so that it couldn't be edited or shown out of context.

Mildly interesting, vaguely amusing or ever so slightly risqué news item of the day.

Owl, that hurt!

A player has caused an uproar and faces severe sanctions for kicking an owl which was lying prostrate on the pitch during a Colombian championship match at the weekend.

Video footage showed that the bird was first struck by the ball near the Pereira penalty area during the match at Atletico Junior, prompting the referee to stop play.

As the referee and players discussed what to do, Pereira defender Luis Moreno - apparently impatient over the delay with his team losing 2-1 - was seen to kick the bird towards the touch-line with his left foot.

"The player should be severely punished for this painful, horrible act of intolerance," Ramon Jesurum, president of the Colombian league (Dimayor), said in a radio interview.

He added the case would go before the Dimayor's disciplinary committee.

You can watch the footage by clicking here.  http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/news-and-comment/footballer-who-kicked-owl-is-hit-with-ban-2230959.html

Milk of human kindness?

Ice cream lovers got a bit churned up last week when it was revealed that human breast milk ice cream had gone on sale at a Covent Garden gelateria called Icecreamists.

Some thought the idea of frozen mama's milk sounded delicious. But others expressed concern over the ethics and health considerations of offering it to adults.

The ice cream, named 'Baby Gaga' ? perhaps for its controversial appeal- was hailed as 'delicious' by consumers and sold out within hours of going on sale for £14 a scoop.

But the wheeze was frozen in its tracks only days ago when health officials from Westminster Council seized the product amid concern that the milk used hadn't been adequately screened.

The future for 'Baby Gaga' is so far unclear, but more than 200 women have offered to put their hands to the breastpump to ensure future stocks
