There are a few pics that I didn't post. This one shows virtually nothing, but it's one of my favorites.

This is not a very good pic, but it gives some idea of scale. The zig-zag path to the right in the distance is almost vertical and masks an even steeper climb beyond.

We going to do a different one then ?

I've already started training as well, playing Tennis, plus I only have chips 6 times a week now.

I was in a bit of a quandary to be honest Mond. I know you fancied it, but I really didn't think you were serious enough about it to put the time in to training. Three of Lee's mates trained hard for it and they didn't make it.

In the end I decided to wait and see if you mentioned it again, and take it from there, but you didn't so I just went ahead and crossed my fingers that you wouldn't be offended.

Matt is talking about doing it, I'm sure he wouldn't mind if you joined him.

Ronnie would eat him.

Well done Tom. I did it once about 20 years ago and even then (a much fitter lad) it was bloody tough. I've just had to have a bowl of sticky toffee pudding and custard to celebrate your victory.

Ronnie would eat him.

Not in one go he wouldn't.

True dat. Would make handy snacks along the way though.

To be honest I doubt Ronnie could make it unless conditions were ideal.

I think he'd be fine in winter with a few snacks and plenty to drink but this time of the year he wouldn't have a chance.

How do you think Kizzy would cope? I assume you didn't take her in case the answer was 'not too well'?

Bloody brilliant Tom, especially, well say no more.

What I like about you is when you decide on something you give it your all, just as you should do. So I'm going to crack open a tub of double choc ice cream to celebrate.

On some sections you are actually climbing Matt, hands and feet stuff, so if it went pear-shaped you would fall off rather than roll down.

It would be dangerous for Ronnie, but Kizzy would be fine in my rucksack.

How exciting!! Didn't realise there was climbing as well.

Might look at doing this a bit later in the year when it cools down a bit.

Also gives me a chance to prep a bit if I leave it 'til late September.

You think Kizzy would be happy doing 25 miles on normal terrain? Ronnie would definitely struggle but he's got a lot of weight to carry about.

In hot weather he wouldn't have a chance. Any more than 2 miles and he's flagging. Can't be nice with a thick black coat on.

Great stuff Tom.

I have a couple of friends (yes, a surprise to most), who want me to run it with them! They're mental fell-runners though, so might have to make my excuses and decline on their kind offer.

How was your mobile phone connection when you were out there. Any use?

What's next?

Have to plan something for next fathers day. Needs to be doable in a weekend. Suggestions welcome.

PS- I hope that that double choc ice cream doesn't have a laxative effect while you're in bed.

There's not a lot of actual climbing Matt, just too much for a dog.

Kizzy has only ever done 10 or 12 miles with me before, but she's never looked even slightly knackered.

We saw some fell runners Kin, going like the clappers they were.

Phone connection was sporadic, but the map I downloaded to the mod's board was fantastic when used in conjunction with GPS. We would have got lost several times without it.

Not offended at all Tom, well actually I seen the pics, thought WTF ??, then read the afterstory and thought, fair do's. Seriously, really, genuinely, honestly.... would like to do something similar, I wasn't being sarcastic when I asked are we doing somewhere else, great effort though and well done.

PS When I asked are we doing a differnet one I meant a different place not the three peaks at a different time.
