The moose story is actually an elaboration from an old Woody Allen routine. I was reminded of it when we did almost hit a deer.  (Well done to Dave for remembering it)

Speaking of driving,  there are two road signs that puzzle me. One on car parks "Please no not reverse in" and one on the highway, "Failing to wear seat belt could result in an $86 fine".

In LA today. Gonna take Mrs Red to see the Hollywood sign.

The reverse sign I think is due to the No. plate being on the back only maybe?

I spent a few extremely happy hours at Chez Red yesterday, we oohed & aahed as we watched Attenborough TV progs, fussed Kizzy, slurped tea out of china mugs, & put the world to rights.

All that was done in blissful peace.*

It doesn't (Or didn't) quite work like that in my community. First of all you spend time getting to know each other while she is in the company of others, chaperoned by her sisters / brothers / girlfriends etc.

If she likes you, she will spend a little time talking to you alone in a quiet corner of a room or stand a few yards away from her friends and chat to you if it's outdoors.

Taking her out alone is for well-developed relationships and is tantamount to plighting your troth.

I asked because in Gypsy Boy he said the male always has to ask the girl out before she could even kiss him and also that the girl was "looked down" at if she said yes the first time ?
