hi all,

Well  I know I'm not the first to visit this amazing place, and it definitely won't be the last visit we make.

I decided to treat Colin my husband to a special weekend away for his Christmas present, so I booked us into the Crown Plaza hotel in Nottingham and bought him into a weekend of tournaments at DTD, myself as well of course. Wink Wink

It was the best decision I could have made for a fabulous weekend.

The whole experience was amazing, where to start is the problem, I contacted dtd before we went, and Tikay as I was unsure how to organise all this before we left, without Colin being aware of what was happening, the help and assistance I received was first class. from everyone concerned.

We arrived at DTD and the venue is Poker heaven,  everything you want from an exceptional weekend of poker was available.

The venue is amazing, the staff are efficient polite and very friendly, and the management went out of their way to make this weekend special for us. They even arranged an a la carte meal for us from the restaurant, which is not yet open and the food was excellent. The bar meals are also very good quality well presented and reasonable priced.

So girls if you want to spoil spouses and yourselves, I cannot reccomend this oasis for poker players higher.

I would like to thank Tikay, Simon Trumper, Simon Nowab, Rob Yong, Darren and all the staff for a truly memorable weekend.

What a great present idea - I can see it now - there will be DTD vouchers on sale before next Christmas. DTD days out on Red Letter days (if they are still around) and Lastminute.com

Seriously - it's a wonderful idea.

I would just like to add a suggestion to all you lads, once the restaurant is open, take your wives and girlfriends for a meal and a sng, if they are a bit wary of your poker addiction it's the perfect place to get them hooked.#

be lucky

Did you meet a group of swedes by any chance?

I played the £50 f/o on Thursday and there were at least 3 dead stacks for the 1st 2/3 hours of play and people were speculating where they were. About 10pm one of the dead stacks suddenly turns up and the obvious question comes up "Why are you so late?", response was our plane was cancelled(presumably due to the heathrow accident) and they had in fact come from Sweden for the weekend just to play at DTD, wow.

Played one of the Swedish guys at the £1/2 cash table I think was good lag fun to play against. Got ul at the end when his QQ reraise to £65 was limp called by K3 who proceeded to hit a KKT flop!

Had my first experience of DTD on Saturday night, it is everything that people have said it was.

What a difference from the standard casino card room, it has been described many times on previous threads so i will refrain from going over the superb lay out, excellent staff and good range of games.

If you havnt managed to get there yet, I guarantee you wont be disappointed.

Made the trip from leeds tonight.

The entire set up is brilliant, from the running of the tournament to the valet services.
