dunno, but I paid a bloody fiver for a bunch of grapes from M&S the other week!  Was well shocked when we got to the checkout.

p.s. they were green ones too.

that is disgusting and also the reason why I never buy fresh fruit/veg from m+s. the only reason for shopping there and paying over the odds is that the quality is better on some products. this does not apply to grapes, spuds or milk which are essentially the same from any supermarket.

A 5'er for green ones and red ones are more expensive?...Hmm, I'll have to ask the Mrs what that big bunch of red grapes cost last week

Don't shop in M&S is the key.  This isn't just food; this is over-priced food.

dunno - maybe less of them around.  Presumably that's the same reason why white onions are also much dearer than brown onions (but other way round in the US)

Our usual bunch of grapes don't cost that much.

M&S is pricy, but some of their stuff is damn tasty.  I'm referring in particular to Cheesy knots, Cheese Scones, Chocolate Chip Muffins, Bakewell pie thing.  Their sandwiches at lunch time are nice too, I like the chicken and bacon baguettes and the chicken caesar wraps.  The Strawberry and Aloe Vera drink is a nice supplement.

Didn't know about the white onions, we don't have them often.
