It's fine for me. I would like to have a tiny mini whinge about people posting lots of pics though - if I'm doing a bit of sneaky browsing at work it's bad as our internet usage is monitored by the amount of data downloaded.
Jane, could you let me know how to block signature images, and is it possible to block other images embedded in to threads?
Quite simply right click on the image and select "block images from...." that's if you are using firefox of course.
Do the same for embedded images too
thank you!
edit: just realised we only have IE at work - any easy way to do it in that case?
There's an easy solution in IE.
Open up IE, click on this link

, download and install.
we're blocked from downloading anything at work.
That's the government for you. They started homosexuality as well you know?
Can you install anything from CD?

nope - DVD Drive and USB ports all disabled. Probably get myself into more trouble by trying to find a way around it!

I can't find a quick fix for you Claire, perhaps Bongo or Kin will know of a way to do this (though I agree with him the best solution is to never use IE again...)

My apologies for being the cause of peoples pc's to play up this morning (if that is the reason, mine is working ok).
I have removed offending signature pic, and have now started to go through my posts removing the pics, please bear with me.

I feel that Blonde lagging is for anybody who has trouble with their pipes during the cold weather. It would be a false economy for people living in a flat with no outside pipes.......
I personally applied it to the pipes in the loft and at no time have they frozen or cracked in any way
Blonde lagging.......your pipes deserve it

"No names, no packdrill", If you had said earlier either by posting a thread, or by PM I would have ceased. Like I say I am not here to upset or offend anybody.

I don't think anyone is upset or offended, and it's no big deal - if it was I'd have said something before, just thought I'd mention it as the subject had come up! Facebook is by far the biggest culprit in that respect anyway!
Your new avatar and sig seem to suggest you've taken the comments a little to heart; absolutely no need - it wasn't directed at you personally

Taximan, I think the problem was that one huge animated shuffling thing you had in your sig which slowed down everyone's computers.
Personally, I think huge graphics in sigs make forums look ultra messy - there's no need for them, and they can screw up the forum.

Point taken, and it was removed as soon as I was made aware of the problem. (if that was the said cause of the problem), I believe it wasn't affecting everyone's. I am still trawling through removing pics, not being technically minded or au fait with computers I feel its best to remove all then I hope everyone will be happy again.

I feel it was directed at me personally as I am well aware I probably post more pics than most.(if it wasn't i would be very interested to know who it was aimed at).
I am not so articulate when it comes to expressing myself in words (should have gone to school more often), so I find pics help me.

Weird that, because there was a lengthy Mods debate about that very subject not long ago. I was, as ever, the awkward one, saying that I like big sig images, & what's the problem?
But the Techo Boys beat the shit out of me - "bandwidth, core filters, dual-processing Intel via FireFix, I.E rocks" & all that geeky nonsense. I'm sure they just try & pull the wool over my eyes.
