Hello and welcome back  for Day 1b of the Dortmund EPT.

Yesterday's play was packed with drama and intrigue, and today's action could well prove to be yet more exciting. A mixture of illustrious and familiar faces are scheduled to fight it out and we'll be closely monitoring the progress of Dan Carter, Stu Rutter, Marcel Luske, Annette_15, Rolf Slotboom, George Danzer and Daniel Negreanu amongst others. The list of names appearing poses some interesting questions...

....will Annette continue her seemingly unstoppable recent Thewy-esque run of results?

....can anyone Get Carter?

....will Marcel Luske-box his way through the field?

and perhaps most crucially, who will have the last scarf out of Stu Rutter and George Danzer?

I couldn't think of a terrible pun to associate with Dan Negreanu, but his reputation precedes him and, never the shrinking violet, Kid Poker will no doubt provide his table with its fair share of entertainment.

They will all be looking to join the likes of current chip leader Cyrille Chabot, well placed former EPT winner Mats Iremark and English players Maz Nawab, Redmond Lee and Steve Jelinek, who have all played some great poker to earn their passage into day 2.

So what looks like a fantastic day's poker in prospect is imminent as the race for the latest EPT gathers momentum and begins to hot up. There can be only one!

Join us to find out who...See you soon.

Today the queuefest of the registration seems to have been brought well under control and we're looking at a pretty timely start to this Day One.  When we arrived in the press room (suddenly full to absolute bursting) Mad Harper explained the sudded rush... "Everyone's playing today.  Everyone."  Well, that's why everyone's media is all abuzz, then...

A few of the players, just to whet the appetite (I will bribe Junglecat to type the whole thing up again with the promise of a Corny Big Cereal Breakfast Treat)...

A couple of table placings kind of spring out...

Like this one, Table 11:

Grundtvig   Christian   11   1
Top Rasmussen   Stig   11   2
Ryan   Daniel   11   3
Grundy   Ben   11   4
Heitmann   Jan   11   5
Stockinger   Sigfried   11   6
Freudenberg   Sebastian   11   7
Herold   Kai   11   8
Soerensen   Jonas   11   9

Some other combinations noticed around the room:

Thor Hansen + Benjamin Kang + Brandon Schaefer
Antony Lellouche + Nicolas Levi + Luca Pagano
Marcel Luske + Bertrand Grospellier

Hi, Junglecat here, temporarily comandeering Jen's laptop once more as the internet connection is suffering once more under the weight of the myriad of assembled press here to follow the many stars in attendance today.

If we are unable to maintain a constant connection, we may have problems uploading photos :0 . We have our fingers crossed though and Jen is out there now snapping the players as they prepare to begin, so we'll be testing this out shortly.

Scrap that , we HAVE begun. Cards and chips are flying about all over the place. I'm off to join Jen catch some of the early action. She mentioned Arnaud  Mattern is sharing a table with Annette Obrestad so that might be an interesting place to start...

Good Luck to everyone playing today

Is there a reason the tournament clock isn't showing up? (probably my fault  )

Here are a couple of overview shots of the room - surely some of the players are easily identifiable even when in miniature (I refer you to the shockingly  bright red hoody of Mr. Rutter and the shining beacon of Mr. Levi's white hat)...

****Slow Warning**** We are now a horde of media, about 50 strong, frankly overwhelming our connection in the press room.  Every photo is taking about 10 minutes to upload, so please bear with us, ladies and gents, as we try to get your requests as well as pictures of Action and Bad Clothing - Junglecat hasn't even been able to get on today but it's not for want of trying.  We'll get there, eventually, but there may be some delay.  The clock is on its way...
